Not the best, could've done worse

  • Summary: This game came highly recommended for it's great story line and fun game play. I've been through about three hours of the game, (of which the first two and a half were nothing but dialogue), and it seems to just drag on and on. But it picks up once you get passed the day long intro videos and get to the fighting and exploring. Great game for someone new to this type of game, or if you're just horribly bored, and need something to stare at.

ok so far

C. Courter, Amazon
25 April 2008
  • Summary: the game is ok so far, though i stopped playing after a couple of days to play a different game i bought at the same time. as i've enjoyed the other game so much, i'll get back to this one after. but...like i said, its ok so far. graphics are different, not bad though. voices aren't the best, but what they have to say is pretty bad indeed! gameplay is ok, fighting can be frustrating at times though. so yea, its OK so far!

Get it cheap and be mildly happy...

There's No Stopping Space Vikings T. Edwards!, Amazon
3 May 2007
  • Summary: This game is pretty standard issue story wise. You play hero X, get involved with a grand malevolent scheme, thwart evil plans... blah blah blah. The story takes a huge back seat in this game, moving on. The combat is the highlight of this game I believe, as should be expected of the makers of the Star Ocean series. You have your choice from a few different weapons each having unique attacks that you earn through use.

Not the Best, but Certainly not the Worst

Su2 "Rawr!", Amazon
8 March 2007
  • Summary: Graphics: Anime-style look, character designs are decent. Areas can be a long stretch because the games is pretty large-scale. But when you get to areas where enemies are populated, it's disappointing because many of the areas are simply left-to-right or right-to-left paths to get to the next time, sort of like a side-scroller, meaning there's not much exploration. Although when you equip new armor or weapons, it appears on the screen.
