Q-Ball Billiard's Master

  • Excerpt: How can you possibly screw up a pool game? Make the game load between every shot, that's how. I don't like sports games in general, but this game takes the cake. There really isn't even anything wrong with it: graphics are decent, sound and music are decent, and controls are decent. The gameplay is even done true to pool. However, it fails due to a technicality. I don't care how fun a game is, 20 second loading times after every single shot is terrible.

Q-Ball Billiards Master

  • Excerpt: Q-Ball Billiards Master does all the right things in the right places. Since pool isn't exactly the most dynamic game on the planet, detail and visual pretties went into the surroundings. Playing in the different pool halls is a nice touch, and even though the pool cue moves in a disembodied way, you see a little anime-style picture of your opponent's face when it's his or her turn. The music is really cool, and ends up being a great soundtrack.

  • Excerpt: As an avid billiards fan, I must admit that console billiards games were pretty much all average, that is why I felt that maybe in the next wave of pool games on next-generation systems would become better. Since the new systems are able to make many more calculations and create even more precise physics, pool games are ideal on new hardware, since physics and angles are what billiards are all about.
