Excerpt: Please note that my review and rating does not take into account the Net Play, PSP data link features and multiplayer aspect of this game. Despite my dominance (over the computer opposition at least) of the previous game in the Pro Evolution Soccer series, playing PES5 was much like a footballer playing in a new league; it sure took me time to adapt to the subtle differences.

I bought the game on the strength of how it's predecessors played, so the inclusion of Arsenal (amongst other teams) as a further fully licensed club was a nice bonus for me. While there is now the option of home and away cup formats and cup fixtures throughout the league ...
Pros: Player movement on the ball, defence is tightened up, Arsenal !
Cons: Poor referee decisions, illogical play, lacks authority and conviction
still the king of football games, but not that evolutionary as we're used to

Excerpt: Another Pro Evolution game, not the best one in my opinion. As a matter of fact after about a year of playing I find it the worst one. At the moment part six is already in stores and I'm glad the fast gameplay is back. Part five was a hard part for dribbling loving freaks like me, but the slow gameplay just didn't let me. I liked the fact that Konami did their best to obtain a lot of licenses for this part though. Next step is competing with EA for graphics and sound.
Summary: According to many gaming critics this is the world's best football game. I disagree. It maybe the world's best football game on how to frustrate. Firstly, the gameplay is realstic enough but it feels that you are always defending than attacking. Then the set peices are scrappy as free kicks and corners never get to the right place. This is not the gameplay physics fault but the speed of the powerbar's fault since it goes too quickly.
Excerpt: "...been a fan of the Pro Evolution Soccer series. Sadly all has changed. I recently bought the Platinum version from Play.com for £11.99 - a very reasonable price I thought. I was very excited about receiving it and when it arrived I couldn't wait to play it! However, I was far from convinced when I finally got the chance to play it. I bought Fifa 06 many months ago (see other review) and I have to conclude that that is certainly a better option than ...
Summary: Ive heard a lot of critism of this game, and in all honest i will now lay any doubters to rest. Pro evolution 5 is a good game which shows significant improvements in graphics, sound quality and even the commentary has improved ever so slightly. In truth, the game takes a few weeks to get used to after playing is comparably fast paced predecessor number 4.
Excerpt: "...basically divided up between Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer and Electronic Arts Fifa Series each new release by these gaming giants is keenly sought after by fans of the two rival camps. Now in its fifth edition Konami attempt to push the football game genre ever further in order to become the recognised number one football game in the worlds best football following nation. The game Match Mode: This is basically a quick way to get playing ...
Summary: I got this game around christmas time, i had always brought Fifa but thought that i'd try pro evo. the good points : -The dribling is realistic -over all game plays good passing bad points : - shoots u touch the shoot button and it sends the ball into orbit -free kicks u cant aim that well -with fouls you can bump into a player and he falls over like hes been hit by a car.
Summary: The biggest disappontment about this game is the lack of change. The graphics are only slightly improved. The commentary still sucks, I mean this is the seventh game in total and they've never once had decent commentary. The master league has absoulutely no changes. They music is terrible. While they've added Chelsea and Arsenal the lack of all licenced premiership teams by now is ludicrous.
Summary: Well i had bought all the other Pro Evo games and been playing pro Evo 4 for a very long time. So i decided to go ahead and buy Number 5. I was immediatly dissapointed. First of all, If you have played pro Evo 4 and moved on to this it will come as a bit of a surprise. Sure, the graphics still look fantastic, but 5 minutes in to a game and i was getting frustrated. Basically its a bit difficult on 3 star difficulty and too unrealistic on anything lower.
