Summary: What should a game be judged on - GAMEPLAY, GAMEPLAY, GAMEPLAY !!! I have been playing PES since PES 6 (which I think is a great game), but on a whim I decided to fork out a fiver and buy PES 5 - a game I had never played before. I couldn't believe how great it is ! It's better than every other PES since and that includes PES 2013 - the players play and move like real footballers and this is as close to the real thing as you can get without putting you boots on - which...
Summary: Well, looking back, PES 5 hasn't aged that bad. In fact, it still remains , along with FIFA 10, the best football game ever. Why? It's simply the most accurate portrait of the real game. Many people still prefer it's follow-up, PES 6, but this particular edition marked the series' peak. The gameplay slowed down quite a bit comparing to PES 4 and while it took away some of that cool arcade feel it really took realism to a whole new level.
Summary: I have played all pro evo games since iss pro evo 98 on ps1 and have to say that in my opinion pro evo 5 is the closest to the beautiful game than any other.Unfortunately after this the franchise has reduced in quality with more jerky players and poor AI. I still play pro evo 5 everyday and am still finding new things in the game after 3 years !!!!
Excerpt: "...the previous game in the Pro Evolution Soccer series, playing PES5 was much like a footballer playing in a new league; it sure took me time to adapt to the subtle differences. I bought the game on the strength of how it's predecessors played, so the inclusion of Arsenal (amongst other teams) as a further fully licensed club was a nice bonus for me. While there is now the option of home and away cup formats and cup fixtures throughout the league ...
Pros: Player movement on the ball, defence is tightened up, Arsenal !
Cons: Poor referee decisions, illogical play, lacks authority and conviction
Summary: I cannot understand all the people moaning about this game being too hard, don't they like a challenge? I played the previous version Pro Evo 4 on level 6 and just about won every game i played with a considerable amount of ease and this became very tedious. There is no joy in beating a team 6-0 when you can pass through their defence as if they're not there. And this is where Pro Evo 5 is so good, you have to earn each goal.
