Still one of the best "PES"s, if not THE best

Marius F. "MIRR", amazon.co.uk
24 January 2011
  • Summary: Even to this day I think the first three editions of Pro Evolution Soccer are the best (PES #5 & #6 were also great though). I kind of found PES more charming when it was a little less mainstream and not completely licensed. This is the first PES that featured licensed teams, but only six teams here are licensed: AC Milan, AS Roma, Lazio, Juventus, Parma and Feyenoord (for some reason). No fully licensed or complete leagues.

A Quick One-Two, And Then It's A Third

  • Excerpt: "...collection it looks as if Pro Evolution Soccer 3 would finally be on its way out. With the upcoming January transfer window approaching PES3 is perhaps surplus to requirements, but that's not to say that this not a class title, for I simply feel it is time to move on. As a PlayStation 2 title, the tendancy to model games towards realism is showing, and the effort towards recreating the beautiful game means we can identify with the football games we ...
  • Pros: Made to build up play in a realistic manner, the Master League
  • Cons: Handball, computer A . I . , referee decisions, pass interpretation

Best football game ever!

Mike Jonze, amazon.co.uk
12 October 2006
  • Summary: This is a great game - no doubt about it. It is probably one of the best footy games that I have ever played! In the world of today, you're either a Pro Evo person or a Fifa person - and I am Pro Evo. Fifa may have the licences, but in terms of gameplay - Pro Evo is the better game. There are more modern versions of this game on the market (up to 6 now), but 3 is my favourite. I just think it had the best all-round playability.

Great game... but so ANNOYING!!!

Yarg, amazon.co.uk
10 October 2006
  • Summary: First off I'd like to say this game is really good, seriously, it really rocks, but so many things annoy me: 1) Sometimes when you slide tackle, you can be running paralel to their attacker, facing the ball, you press O and he dives behind the ball, resulting in a foul. 2) When 3 stars or more, CPU creates 'magical' players who help make a 5 strong attack against you, then swarm back to outnumber you 6 to 3.

Pro Evolution Soccer 3 (PS2): Evolution stops here

Wolfzilla, Dooyoo
24 April 2006
  • Summary: Konami's Pro Evoltution Soccer series, released as the Winning Eleven games in the USA, rose out of the ashes of the dying International Superstar Soccer games, and quickly established itself as one of the 'big two' football games on the market, providing EA Sports' FIFA with it's first real competition since Sensible Software went out of the game.
  • Pros: Still fun on 2-Player, improved graphics
  • Cons: Somewhat odd control glitches, sound, not much has changed from PES2

Although Pro Evolution Soccer 4 is already out and with number 5 coming out next month, I have only just started to play the Pro Evolution series and I am already addicted. There is a wide selection of teams including both national and club teams. The only slight disadvantage ...
