Excerpt: Pac-Man World 3, for anyone that hasn't been following the Pac-Man World games, is the third game in the 3D platforming series, which sees Pac-Man jumping around, chomping pills and tackling ghosts. While modern platformers seem to be moving further and further away from their roots, Pac-Man World 3 is very much a traditional 3D platformer, designed to be a fun and simple experience for kids. The game opens with Pac-Man celebrating his 25th birthday with Mrs.
Conclusion: While this would be a good game to get for child who has never played
this type of game before, other players should probably this
title. While the control of the characters is very good and there
are some amusing moments in the game, there really isn't a lot else to
recommend this title. The levels are overly simple and aren't very
different from one another, and there isn't anything new or innovative
in the game. Feeling like the countless other platform games out...
Conclusion: Given that so many recent platformers have departed from a focus on maneuvering and jumping between actual platforms, Pac-Man World 3 is a refreshing reminder of this type of gameplay. Unfortunately, it does little to further the genre, instead rehashing the mechanics pioneered by other games. As a complete package, Pac-Man World 3 will be very appealing for younger gamers who are bound by the E (not even E10+) rating.
Pros: Different types of gameplay keep you on your toes, New types of power pellets are interesting, Can control the ghosts Pinky and Clyde.
Cons: The platforming is derivative, Some frame rate and camera problems, Too easy for most audiences.
Excerpt: Pac-Man’s 25 you know. That makes him roughly the same age as me, and I haven’t starred in even one mind-bogglingly successful arcade game. That’s not allI can eat stuff AND I can move in more than four different directions. Admittedly, now Pac-Man can too, which is progress. He seems quite an agreeable sort of yellow sphere these days.
Conclusion: God knows why Namco shopped out their flagship mascot to an outside developer, but the series is worse for the wear. it's not really Blitz's fault, but the game just doesn't need to be made into another generic platformer.
Excerpt: If you were to ask somebody to name a game’s character, it’s quite probable that Pacman would be one of their first suggestions. Ever since his first appearance in arcades around the globe, Pacman has found himself engraved into gaming history and etched into the memories of millions. The games and their various spin-offs and sequels were popular in arcades and on home systems throughout the 8 and 16 bit eras. Unfortunately, the leap to 3D was not kind to Pacman.
