Vanillaware was the original creator of Odin Sphere but then it fell to the Atlus company to make the PS2 version of Odin Sphere. Unlike other PS2 games, Odin Sphere is composed of five interlocking stories.

With five stories at its heart, Odin Sphere is a single-player game that is made up of five different chapters. Each chapter is a story of one protagonist who represents one kingdom among the five that are at war in this long story. The superior graphics and complicated storyline won this game many fans mostly among PS2 players. But one negative to playing Odin Sphere is that when there are multiple characters on the screen, it seems the game tends to slow down. It is categorized as a role playing game that has both action and adventure components in it. The story can unfold in the original Japanese language used (and read the English subtitles) or switch to the English voiceovers instead.
