Excerpt: Age Rating : 16+ - violence, sexual references. Also available on: PC, Nintendo Wii. Can be bought new for £8.49 on amazon.co.uk or new and used for £8+ on ebay.co.uk. As I've said on an earlier game review for the first Obscure game in the series, I loved the odd slightly parody style horror game of the original game Obscure which made me want to play the second in the series even more. I put it in and saw the main menu which made me instantly go 'yay!
Pros: Good bits of comedy in there, great soundtrack, enjoyable gameplay .
Cons: Camera angles, extreme gore and violence (but others might like that) .
Excerpt: Despite being playable, the first Obscure game didn't create mega sales or even cause critics to stop and stare. So did we really need a sequel? Does Obscure 2 actually expand on its predecessor to produce a truly horrific, addictive and chill to the bone experience? Well in spite of this, Obscure 2 is actually a hard to find game even though it was released in late 2007.

Summary: Overall, Obscure 2 is a highly entertaining and enjoyable game despite the lack of any real horror moments. For a game to be released so late into the PS2's life it has effective dark graphics and a great feel to it. The multiplayer option really sets the game on fire despite its linear Gameplay style and simple puzzle system, but it all fits together nicely into a tight package.

Pros: Old - school survival horror, good puzzle aspect
Summary: I wonder how many people have played this game to what they think the final boss fight is, watched the credits, and then sold the game???? Big mistake, Huge Mistake. If you wait until the end credits finish, you will find that there is even more game to play (quite a bit more) and a bigger battle to come. Hope I have saved someone getting rid of the game before 100% completion.
Summary: Obscure II works suprisingly well for a game that unashamedly borrows various styles, gameplay mechanics and plot devices from just about every successful survival horror game of the last 10 years. As someone who rather misses the older style ammo conserving / puzzle solving heyday of games such as Resident Evil 2 and the first Silent Hill this pushed enough nostalgaic buttons to keep me happily immersed for a couple of days and nights.
