Conclusion: The interface bugs are pretty annoying. But outside of those this is a really fun game. It would be especially fun if you had some friends over. The games only take between 10 and 15 minutes each, so you can pack a lot of Hitz into a short time. Hockey purists should avoid this title, but if you don't need realism and enjoy a really over-the-top experience, then you will have a lot of fun with NHL Hitz 20-03.
Excerpt: Hockey is a sport that has a very faithful following, but also has a lot of people who don’t follow the sport, peaked with curiosity. I am a person who follows some hockey but not a lot. However, I enjoy playing hockey games. They are fast paced and very exciting. It is hard to find a dull moment while fighting for the puck and trying to score. This brings me to NHL Hitz 20-03. Hitz is a title that isn’t trying to be the ultimate sim.
Excerpt: Midway has become known for its assortment of over-the-top, hard-hitting sports titles, blending addictive gameplay with action and excitement. It seems intent on accentuating the elements of such titles, including power hits and extraordinary plays. NHL Hitz 20-03 sticks to this dominating formula, and presents fans with a game that is an instant success. It is incredibly easy to pick up and becomes quite addicting whether you're playing by yourself or with a friend.
Excerpt: Midway has been making arcade-style sports games for quite some time. The company usually sticks to a pretty basic formula that consists of taking some of the players off of the playing field, removing almost all of the rules, and adding the ability to turbo-boost into your opponents, wildly knocking them over. Last year marked the company's reentry into the hockey market with a new series, NHL Hitz. Hitz stuck to this formula quite well, and the core game was great.
Excerpt: Let’s see if you believe this. Because Memorial Day is about America’s fighting men and women… some of who, yes, are hockey fans, I dedicated three weeks of hockey reviews just for them… don’t believe me, huh? Really! Fans who have served the United States… oh-kay, maybe it’s not Memorial Day tied in… that’s what my review of Project : Snowblind is for.
