Summary: I bought the game used and it was in excellent condition. There wasn't a scratch or skip on it. It came on time but didn't come in the original case unfortunately. It's in a black case without the original cover. I bought it for the nostalgia but I've been pleasantly surprised to find how good the graphics are for their age. Really fun to go back and play if you were a fan 10 years ago.
Summary: This game is what hooked me back onto the NHL track for current gen systems! What blew me away the most were not the graphics, as the PS2 version had less than par visual beauty as the GC and Xbox versions had... It was the color commentary that was soo entertaining when you'd sit 8 buddies in one room with 8 controllers and start pounding in the goals!
Summary: I've had this game for six or seven years, and I can never figure out how to make it work. Every 18 months or so I get bored and break it out, but I can never get the players to react to my input....it is like watching a bad game on TV....I have no control. It loads, and I can choose the teams and all that stuff, but when the game actually starts it just seems to run on autopilot. I can't make the players do anything.
Summary: This game had many aspects of a good game(good graphics, nice setup, fun) but after a while, it becomes too easy to score. At first when i bought this game it was new and great, but as i continued to play it the scoring was exagerated. If you put it to the level 'difficult' the CPU doesn't put out much of a fight. This game also looks like an arcade game. It has good graphics but it isn't completely realistic.
Summary: If replay value is used as the greatest criteria for judging a game, than the latest installment in EA Sports' NHL series is a complete classic. My friends and I play it endlessly even when we build a franchise in such a manner that it is virtually impossible to lose, we still play and have a great time at that! One of the best things about this edition is that you have virtually complete control over your franchise (including drafts, waivers etc.
Summary: Hey Guys and Girls Since your reading this review you must be intrested in buying this game. WELL DO IT! This is a great game. For all you Hocky Fans and even if your not if you like sports games this is a great game. The controlls are easily set up for good gameplay. And the Franchise mode is Great fun. you can draft sign free agenst trade and all that. all the teams are pretty accurate. And it has pretty good graphics. The music is cool to.
Summary: I have been a loyal EA Sports follower for years. While the College and Pro Football games still remain in a class by themselves I find NHL 2003 poor at best. The game play, camera views, etc. Seems like they have really taken this one in the wrong direction. After playing this one for a couple of weeks I could not take it anymore and decided to try the 2K3 version of Hockey and boy am I happy I did.
Summary: as a hockey player this game is quite fun but quite unrealistic. I still don't know why the developers of these hockey games leave some of the scoring glitches. For example, since Sega started the NHL series in the early 90's, on eveyr single game if you need to score a goal all you gotta do is go behind your opponents net come out in front on the other side and then shoot to the far side of the net. goal every time in every game i ever play.
Summary: Definately one of the best hockey games ever. Allows you to create a player with very specific detail, play a franchise with your favorite team which you can be the star of and have fun with your friends or just against the computer.
