Summary: NHL 2002 for the PS2,is a great game! One of the most fun NHL games ever!It does have some flaws like : It to easy to score, but you can raise the Difficulty to make the Defense tougher. It has great features like a Shootout. It has GameStory which is like highlights like a shutout,Great Hat-Trick,and Total domination. This is on of the best NHL games out there.
Summary: Yeah, you got to love the theme song by GOB in this game. But seriously, this game is so nice you can just pick up, play it, and have fun. I wasn't even a fan of hockey games until I tried this at a friend's house back in like 2004, but I was hooked by how awesome this game was to play. Seriously, me, playing hockey?
Summary: Before EA Sports realized they didn't have to try, they made NHL 2002. Yes, it's been a long time since the players on this game were the best in the league. But this is the last in the franchise to actually play like hockey. The scores get up there a bit (your goalie will let in some softies), but the options in this game allow you to set things right. This is before big players skated at 1 mile per hour and looked like balloons.
Summary: I usually do not like that many sports games because plenty of them are lacking in good graphics, or are too complicated to learn how to play. From the very start, I found that this game is fun, easy, and has fantastic graphics. My cousin brought it over my house one day, and we ended up playing it for quite a while... and I don't even like hockey that much! This game is a lot of fun and even entertaining to watch when others are playing.
Summary: EA Sports has done it again with NHL'02! There are some pros and cons to this game i think. Pros: Funny commentary, Don Taylor is the best! Cool Big Hit,and Save camera. New Emotion Meter gives your fans a boost of whats going on. Cons: The players look very unreal, there bodies are all jiggly and very dull. Not as good as NHL 06. The glass never breaks when you do a big hit to a player!
Summary: This review is a little exaggerated (probably since I've been stuck with the 2000 edition for PC for the past 5 years) but I absolutely love NHL 2002. Here's why: Graphics-9/10 The graphics in this game are spectacular. The player animations look very realistic, whether they're skating, shooting, passing, you name it. The celebrations after you score or win are fun too.
Summary: NHL 2002 is the new benchmark for hockey games. It's fun, it's deep, it's got features up the wazoo, and best of all, it lasts long. The gameplay has been upped significantly since last year, framerate hicups are gone, horrible A.I. is out, while Franchise mode, NHL Cards, Create-A-Face builder, and new commentary are in. Thankfully all of these are welcome additions. Since it's already July, you can probably see how deep this game is, and I bought it in October.
Summary: It's obvious that EA wasn't trying to create a perfect sim of hockey with NHL 2002, they were attempting to satisfy the majority of gamers with a fun, long-lasting game. To their credit, they succeeded. The gameplay is excellent, there's finally no slowdown at all, the players move realistically, and the multiplayer is a blast. I for one am happy with this year's commentary.
