Bought for my Dad

amaples93, Amazon
21 December 2013
  • Summary: He used to play the PC version, it took him a while to figure out how to work it because he was expecting it to be more similar but the disc itself worked great and he got some fun out of it, so it was worth purchasing.

Still My Favorite

Doomantra, Amazon
29 December 2005
  • Summary: Obviously this game is very old, especially by PS2 standards. However it is the one hockey game I come back to time after time. Why? You can TWEAK this game to create one of the most fast paces, high energy, fun hockey experiences ever. Simply adjusting the play speed, hard hits, the speed of the puck, etc to the maximum levels, you will see what I mean. I have been playing Playstation hockey since Faceoff 98 and all the way up to this year.

GREAT GAME!!!

  • Summary: This game is great on one or two player mode, but I prefer playing two player all day with my dad because I kick his butt easily but he wins once in a blue moon. The bottom line is this game will give you hours of fun, so I recommend this game.

This is the best hockey game ever!

C. L. Stone, Amazon
25 December 2001
  • Summary: I've had my PS2 for over a year now, and NHL 2001 was the game that I bought when I got the system. After adding substantially to my PS2 game library, I find myself always going back to NHL 2001. The graphics are great, the color commentary is good (it's downright awful in NHL 2002), and the game play is phenomenal.

"cclaya", Amazon
18 July 2001
  • Summary: And I thought NHL 2000 on PS was great! Wow. This game is incredible, from the amazingly lifelike graphics to the insanely customizable gameplay. The front end presentation is spectacular, as we have come to expect from EA Sports. The sound is immersive and really adds to the excitement of playing.

  • Summary: The graphics, gameplay, and audio make this my favorite sports title for the PS2. Call your buddies, order a pizza, take the phone off the hook, and you'll have no excuse to not finish an entire season!

Amazon
1 July 2001
  • Summary: NHL 2001 is great! It is easy to set up a season. You can create a player. It shows you how many goal a player has, hits, etc. Chase is the best camera view because you get close to the players. They have teams from different countries. Here is a tip, BUY IT!

BEST GAME I'VE EVER HAD!!!

Resident Philosopher "jdf212", Amazon
16 May 2001
  • Summary: Ok, for all the people who gave NHL2001 bad ratings, they're just full of it. NHL truly exemplifies PS2's graphics and excellent gameplay. The Stanley Cup playoffs are amazing... if you win each player skates around with the cup, and they are even wearing hats during their huge celebration! Funny commentary from Bill and Jim give the game a huge boost. Really, you will love it! This is the best game I have ever played. I can not urge you enough... BUY NHL2001!!!!
