Excerpt: "NHL2001 was the first game i ever played on PS2, and it's still the best. I really expected more from the Playstation after seeing NHL2001, but i still haven't seen anything that has matched it visually, or gameplay-wise. The visuals are so realistic and it runs so fast and you'll hear all those sounds from the skates on the ice to the cheering crowds, i've never seen a console game quite like it, and it looks like Electronic Arts have gone to ...

Summary: HOCKEY AT ITS BEST The NHL series by EA Sports has long been my favorite sports title. I, like many others, have been a fan since the Sega Genesis days. This game is notoriously famous, getting screen time in movies such as Swingers and Mall Rats, where the inside nature of the humor has delighted gamers across the country. Perhaps no other game in the history of mankind has caused more cursing, more broken controllers, or spawned more dorm room arguments.
NHL 2001 (PS2): Lets all go to the ball game(I mean ice hockey game).
22 May 2001
Summary: EA have given us football, basketball and even golf so that we don't even have to leave the comfort of our own house to enjoy the world of sports. Now they bring us the fastest game in the world.... Ice hockey. Or to be precise the NHL to our PS2s. With every NHL team and twenty international teams to tinkle your skills and tickle your pleasure buds with, you will have a hard time mastering it.
Pros: Great graphics and cut scenes , Finally an interesting commentators, A sack full of stats....
Cons: Most of which are useless, Can get tiresome, Some slow down
Summary: So, I am English, not a great fan of the old ice like sport but I have seen the avalanche a few times!! So I thought, the box looks good, reviews have been good so why not? And what a £40 quid well spent. The opening sequence, although not showing real ice hockey, shows some of the finer moves of the game and is accompanied by a sharp soundtrack to boot. From there you are taken to the main menu. As you would expect from EA , it is well organised and easy to navigate.
Pros: Good graphics, nice gameplay and AI difficulty spot on
