Summary: I thought this was the best hockey playwise nhl.i havent played 2002,but play wise it is much more like the real nhl! especially the saves the goalies make, they literally steal the game or leave it tied at times! the defense is much more like real nhl,but 03',and 04' did have better graphics thats why i give it 4 stars! i highly recommend it!
Summary: Get this for only the used price. It was a great start of Hockey for the PS2 system. Any part of the game play can be updated and made to make the game easier to play. Great graphics and better game play then it's counter part for the PS1.
Summary: I have to say, I really dig this game. The graphics aren't perfect, but they are pretty good and most of the hockey players look like their real life counterparts. The game is rather balanced and it's way fun to check someone into the glass and steal the puck. You can practically feel the exhiliration when you score a goal or the disappointment and anger when a goal is scored on you. The replay of goals is really tasty, let's you have to feeling of really being there.
Summary: EA Sports certainly put all their attention to this years hockey games to the Playstation2. Their NHL 2001 for the Psx1 was terrible and nothing new when compared to last years title. However, on the Psx2, things are much different and the disapointment level is much less. To start with, this game looks amazing.
Summary: Ok. I have played basically every single EA Sports NHLsince NHLPA 1993 and this game completes the evolution of EA's superb NHL dynasty. I mean how much more realistic can this game get (with the exception of a few flaws which i will explain later on). The Pros - the AI is superb - the controls make this game the most realistic game ever (no more cheap goals like psx and super nintendo versions of NHL) - Fantasy Draft (no other hockey games have this cool feature) The...
Summary: This game is great. Easily the best play-by-play i've ever heard, the graphics are fantastic and the gameplay modes are great. You can change your team's offensive or defensive strategies. Here's why it doesn't get 5 stars: the fights are a joke, and the penalties are silly. double minors and 5-min majors are called way too often. the checking is also a little overdone, but it can happens once in a while.
Summary: Man, this was the most awesomest grpahics u can ever get. I say this because it was the 1st game for my ps2. It has cool features and is easy to understand for people like who r from down under and believe me, people know very little bout hockey here. I reckon it is has a pretty ok intro but the gameplay graphics are way better. The gameplay is also pretty good and is easy to undertand.
Summary: NHL 2001 is by far the best hockey game I've ever played. For any system. Hands down. This is a bold statement, considering I've played EA Sports' since the beginning (only skipping NHL 1999). The graphics are as crisp as any game i've seen on the PS2 thus far. When you turn the game speed up, this baby just screams. The hits are huge, and the camera movement totally fluid. The player models are also oustanding.
Summary: I have been playing the EaSports NHL games since the beginning and have seen some really great features added to the EA NHL history of games. This by far is the best out there today. EaSports doesn't disappoint with this one. The reason it got 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the limited player editing. The highest skill level of your player is 84 as a superstar, no matter how you change the stats and there is no way of changing the player's appearance.
