Summary: Since I can't afford the outrageous amount they still want for a PS3, this, I think, is at or near the end of the line as far as games for the PS2 are concerned. I played the heck out of the '07 version. Which is pretty good.
Summary: I had recently purchased a 989 hockey game and was dissapointed while it was good it was not quite what I was looking for. I ordered this one and upon its arrival began playing. I found it excellent, it has all the usuall options for creation and teams, but you can also play as all the AHL minor...
Summary: This game is very good. This game has newer rosters and new controls, which can make playing easier or harder depending on your skill. Pros... gammeplay and graphics are very good. good multiplayer game. Great dynsasty mode. Cons...
Summary: The control system is quite entertaining (and takes some getting used to) and the dynasty mode is still quite entertaining, however trades and the draft are still very weak....As well as the salary cap/profits glitch: either fix it or take out the profits entirely..
Summary: I loled at the PC Gamer bandwagon jumping review. NHL08 was pretty solid. But where the hell was PC Gamer these last 8 years when the the NHL franchise sucked? They were busy giving glowing reviews (mostly) to this fading franchise. 05, 06 and 07 are 35% games, not this one.
Summary: I must confess, the last NHL game I picked up before this one was 2004, so there may be some features I bring up that were also in previous years which I am unaware of. For the most part, NHL 2008 is fun and addictive, and there are no other NHL games that compare.
Summary: They finnaly did something I have wanted for years, and that was to add in the AHL teams. EA Sports however didn't however do it right. Unlike their baseball games you CAN'T call up player from your minor league system.
Summary: Finally this series is making some moves in the correct direction. The gameplay does definately resemble hockey much more than in previous versions. There's new skating animations and movements that are way improved. But I still feel like it's got MAJOR room for improvement.
