Excerpt: This game is very cool, one of the best racing games I have played to date. One of the really outstanding features of this game and the first time I have ever seen this is a pure racing game, is the ability to drive anywhere. You don't just race on a set course or track in this game, you do that for a particular race but immediately afterward you're back in free drive mode and able to drive from city to city.
Excerpt: Last year’s Need for Speed Underground 2 was largely criticized by the gaming media for its open-world environment that left gamers driving from one race event to the other. I personally loved the idea of free-roaming a vast city, challenging racers on the streets and visiting shops. The only thing that was missing was going through a Burger King drive-thru, which you could do too actually, but no fries or burger.
Conclusion: Need for Speed: Most Wanted is the best game in the series since it moved beyond the PS1. While it seemed to struggle a bit at first and took a little deviation with Underground , it’s nice to see the series get back to its roots. The fast-paced gameplay, great sense of speed, and nice graphics make it a complete package. The reintroduction of police pursuits is one of the best changes for the series, and the way it is implemented really adds to the title’s full worth.
