Summary: This is a terrible game, not what I expected for a PS2 game made by one of the better known gaming companies EA sports. The graphics are ok, sometimes some of the players look the same, not to realistic IMHO.
Summary: Received my copy yesterday and here are some observations. The interface is very clunky and poorly visible, similar to FIFA 2001 as compared to the clear menus in Madden 2001. The graphics have their moments, and there is no slowdown or breakup, but compared to Madden or SSX, Live looks PS1-ish.
Summary: When I bought Live 2000 for the playstation, I thought it was the worst basketball game that EA has made in a while. I thought that they might have been saving all of their time and energy to develope Live 2001 for the PS2......I was wrong!
Summary: If you are a Live fan with a PS2 console, I'm sure you havebeen anxiously waiting for this game to be released. I bought it theday it came out and I can honeslty say that the gameplay is almostexactly like the gameplay of that of PSone, with one exception---thegraphics.
Summary: NBA LIVE 2001 FOR THE PS2 IS VERY DISAPPIONTING. THE PERFECT GAME WOULD BE A HYBRID OF SEGA'S NBA 2K1 AND EA'S LIVE 2001. WHILE LIVE HAS THE FRANCHISE REPUTATION, IT'S NEW HYPED-UP RELEASE FOR THE PS2 DOESN'T FULFILL THE TRUE NBA GAMING EXPERIENCE. WHY?
Summary: Ok, I have played so many sports games that it is ridiculous, I don't like role playing games or fantasy sports games like NFL biltz. I like authentic games. This game is far from authentic basketball or a fantasy sport game. The graphics are very lack luster for PS2.
Summary: One of the most anticiptated sports games for the Playstation 2 turns out to be one of the 1st bombs for the system! I've been an EA sports- NBA Live fan for over 8 years now. Playing it on all the major systems; like, Playstation, PC's, Genesis, Super NIN, etc.. So I'm a devoted NBA Live fan.
Summary: When I think of ea sports, I think of qualtiy sports games. So far ea sports has put out 4 quality games in ssx, nhl 2001, fifa soccer 2001 and madden 2001. I held out on buying NBA 2K1 for dreamcast because I was really looking forward to what EA Sports was going to put out.
Summary: The game is not that bad. I mean it's not perfect and it does have it's flaws. It's missing alot of the small details, that the other EA sports games have. I mean not to be picky but where are the refs? Where are the coaches? I hear the coaches talking but you don't see them on the bench.
Summary: I am a big NBA live fan, and i tell you this is not worth your time! I have playd LIVE since it was on supernintendo, and this game is a waste! The graphics are crisp, but the moves are slow, the play control is in no comparison the other versions of live on the PS1.
