Summary: bottom line, its the most fun basketball game i've ever played. i bought it in dec 2002, and have logged a full 82 game season with playoffs (10 min 1/4's) plus at least 100 games against human players. the copy i bought had a couple of bugs, every once in a while the ball would fly off a player 100 feet in the air, and sometimes the game itself would freeze. despite, the game gets five stars, and here's why. -realistic.
Summary: My six year old and I play this game quite often. There is a slight learning curve (my son was shooting when he meant to be passing) but it isn't too rough. I've seen more complicated games. This game is pretty fun. The biggest thing I like about this game (what sold me on the game) was my ability to play on the Internet. So after I picked this up I told my brother in the next state to pick up a copy as well and we've met online a couple of times to play a quick game.
Summary: My friends and I decided to rent a game. Unfortunately, NBA Live 2004 was not available so we picked this up instead. We're pretty experienced gamers, having played a few incarnations of NBA Live and the NBA 2K series. I won't comment much as this is an old game, but the game was slightly disappointing to me. Maybe I played NBA Live 2004 too much, but 2K3 just felt very sluggish. The passing system was not very good and I had difficulty getting a feel for the game.
Summary: They gotta make some improvements in the 2K4 series. for example: the game is too slow, the actual players are way faster. They also need to create more moves. The bench players should react more often when you make a fantastic play. they gotta be real on the "challenge mode".They make you miss too many easy shots when you're playin' on the SEGASPORTS CHALLENGE.
Summary: This game is tight. It's the best basketball game I've ever played. Before I rented this game at Blockbuster, I thought that it was gonna be like other basketball games I've played, boring and stupid. I rented it anyways, and I was surprised. I loved it. The gameplay is so realistic. The graphics are real good, too. You can choose from the best teams in the NBA, like the LA Lakers, New Jersey Nets, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs, etc.
Summary: I wish that people would spend more time playing the game before they write an interview. If you read anywhere that alley-oop dunks are an impossibility in NBA 2K3, please ignore this. The only reason that you might see this being said is becasue alley-oops are not nearly as frequent or easy to pull off as in 2K2, in which game dunks and alley-oops alike were unrealisticly frequent. Anyway there are more injuries which is fun.
Summary: i was a HUGE fan of sega's NBA 2K.. i loved that game. the most fun part of playing a basketball game is doing ALLEY OOP DUNKS! but sega has taken that feature out in NBA2K3, why??? that was one of the GOOD things! they should have never taken that feautre out. u cant do alley oop dunks anymore unfortunetly. but the good things about nba 2k3 is that, the cross overs are much better and improved. u can even put it on replay and practice these NICE cross overs yourself.
Summary: Ok i know some people have been bad mouthing this game so i decided to write my own review. First off i want to say that i own both NBA Live 2003 and NBA 2k3. I recommend NBA 2k3 for numerous reasons. The first reason is because NBA Live 2003 is ungodly easy. All you have to do is press the L2 button and it throws it all the way down court. Another reason is because in Live 2003 there isnt solid commentary and the pace of the game is way too fast for an NBA Game.
Summary: I bought this game for my son who is 17years old He plays this game from sun up to sun down. The sounds are great and the color is beautiful. When he is playing I sometime have to check to see if there is a game on that I forgot that day. The sounds are so real and he is so into it, that he sounds like he is at a real live game. I would reccommend this game to only true lovers of the sport of basketball.
