Summary: I got this game for my son, who wanted it for his 12th birthday. He really enjoys the '07 version for PlayStation 2 and thought this updated version would be even better. Well, from what I can see, it's not. He has already gone back to playing the '07 version. Yes, the graphics are better and the drivers more up-to-date, but his complaint is that the cars can't go as fast as the earlier version.
Summary: The biggest problem I have with this game, is that there is no default, for any of your car set up. if you get it wrong, to bad. The other, is they made it TO complicated, with no help in how to fix your car, if you get it wrong. Overall, it's ok. And If you REALLY like to tinker with suspension, shocks, tire pressure, weight transfer, wedge, spring rate, grill tape, down force, and a lot more, then this is your game.
Summary: NASCAR 09 on the PS2 is not the best NASCAR game ever. There are certain features that the PS3 and 360 versions have that could easily be in the PS2 version but they are not. The career mode is not as fun because you can't own your own team. The only thing you can do in career is sign contracts and drive someone else's car.
Summary: It seems that Nascar 09 for the PS2 was expected to be better then the others. I have to say that they were fooled by the commercials on t.v. It has the same thing as the rest of them do. They need to add the features like differant kinda cars like dodge and toyota. All the cars look like toyotas though. The car of tomorrow or COT looks great actually. Better then 08. The challenge was great, hardcore actually.
