Excerpt: Naruto is one of the most successful anime series’ with the kids right now, so it’s hardly a surprise that there’s some games just waiting for the obsessive fans to hurriedly snatch them off the shelves. Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles is far from the first game of the popular anime, but, as is the tradition with most anime based games, at least it’s not a regular fighting game this time around.
Excerpt: Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 takes care of a lot of the issues that the previous game in this line had and it makes for a much better game. Where the previous version shied away from the cel-shading style that has appeared in every other Naruto game, this one embraces it and I definitely think that is the best direction to go. The look and feel of Uzumaki Chronicles 2 comes through great and really brings the visuals from the show to life like the first game couldn't.
Conclusion: If you're looking for a Naruto game to play; this isn't the one. There may be some promising attributes here such as the action/RPG elements and interesting plot but just about every piece of this puzzle has flaws. The gameplay is monotonous, sections of the game are broken, the graphics are choppy, and the audio is a mixed bag. Curious Naruto fans should steer clear but if you appreciated the first Uzumaki Chronicles title you may consider a rental here.
Excerpt: BLAND Fans of Naruto will like this game, as for the rest of us. Well? allow me to explain. I’ll start with the controls, they aren’t bad, balanced and playable, if am honest. There are one or two buttons, which I mixed up from time to time, but I guess that was my fault. The same can’t be said about the enemy AI though, for a slasher / beat em up type of game I expected the opponents to have a bit more oomph, more bite. But in actual fact it seemed boring.
Pros: Fans might like it.
Cons: TOO BLAND, nothing that makes you want to play more.
