Summary: There have been many changes from EA Sports. The group switched its Triple Play series into an MVP Baseball series (which I found out in a cold night at Gamestop in 2002). Instead of pushing a button just to pitch, you have to time your release. You push the button coressponding to the pitch you want, wait untll it gets to the bottom, push it and finally push it again when it is in the green zone. The batting stances aren't that spectacular.
Summary: I didn't think this game would be any good at all after playing the old triple play from ea sports, but I was wrong. It is great. It has a good sound track (like all the other ea games), good grahpics, and controls you can get used to. The total pitch control and Full swing control are nice. Very nice features are the picture-in-picture bases that make it easy to see what is going on. The franchise mode is not the best compared to others. But other than that a nice game.
Summary: This game had alot of flaws(the less than perfect fielding, and the lack of a fantasy draft), but it's by far the best baseball game out there. The pitching interface and control is completely original and is the best I have come upon in any baseball game. The batting controls are realistically challenging(depending on what difficulty you play on), and you have to develop an eye for ball and strikes to be successful.
Summary: I will mention from the start that this is the only baseball game I have ever owned for the PS2...which is the only reason I've given it 4 stars. With that said, this is best baseball game I have played in a looong time. I chose this game to purchase after much consideration, comparisons, and research for the absolute best. The gameplay, music (awesome soundtrack!), and overall features make this baseball game an immediate favorite of mine.
Summary: everyone knows the story, for years ea has been the leader in video game sports but as years go on there starting to fall apart, there never really was a problem with madden but every other game was kind of a let down. that being said ea came out with solid releases for this years games including mvp baseball, which took the place of triple play. now myp is gonna be the best baseball sim ever this time next year.
Summary: MVP 2003 is a great step foward from Triple Play. As someone who played Triple Play sparingly becaue I just didn't like it, I am finding myself already hooked on MVP. There's a lot of customizable features that make this game a fun one to play. Franchise mode is quite in depth and quite fun to play. The revolutionalry batting/pitching system is great as well. All in all, this is a great game.
Summary: THis game is awesome it is much better than triple Play, You have to have good timing to get the pitch meter to throw strikes it is harder than the previous series (Triple Play). It is chalenging to hit the pitches, not to easy but not too hard. You just have to have a good perception on where the pitch is, and have good timing. There are only two problems with this game. 1st There is no fantasy draft.
