Excerpt: Musashi is back in Musashi: Samurai Legend . This new game in the Musashi series has seen a variety of improvements, from the manga shaded graphics to the ability to pick things up. It’s far from perfect, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth playing. Still interested? Read on to see what else Musashi has in store!
Excerpt: Brave Fencer Musashi was a title that went under the radar of most gamers. Those who snagged the PSOne game, however, were met with a platformer-RPG hybrid that was a diamond in the rough. Fast forward a hardware generation to today; Square-Enix announced a quasi-sequel to Brave Fencer Musashi with Musashi: Samurai Legend, keeping the character's name and ability to copy enemy moves, but putting him in a whole new body with a rather psychedelic environment.
Excerpt: The year is 1998, and PlayStation owners are introduced to Brave Fencer Musashi, a fast paced action platformer. The wild haired, diminutive dual sword-wielding samurai managed to stand out from the other mascot driven titles thanks to his special abilities. In particular, Musashi could turn his opponent’s attacks against them by absorbing their abilities through his weapons.
Conclusion: And so that concludes Musashi: Samurai Legend. Rather a mixed bag as far as both RPGs and platform action games go, and never quite reaching the pinnacle of either game type. While MSL does have its faults, it also looks great and is good fun, even if it can’t make up its own mind about what it’s trying to achieve.
Pros: Overall animation and graphical style, Easy to pick up and play
Cons: Poor voice "acting", Occasional problems with the camera
