An objective look at MK:DA

SPiTFiRe_MV, Amazon

  • Summary: I'll try to omit what's already been written here. I played all of the older MK games and enjoyed them, but this game is flawed in the same old ways. It is a fun game, but just as before, once you get to a certain point in the game the only way to win is by doing 1 or 2 moves over and over and over.

  • Summary: I think the graphics on this game are pretty good, and the little Krypt thing gives it a really fun thing to work forward to. So unlike games like Tekken, you don't just "beat" the game and that's it, you have other things to work forward to.

Playing this game is like punching a brick wall: the wall will win every time.

  • Summary: When the Mortal Kombat series moved from being 2D to fully 3D it got a lot of criticism from long time fans for changing the status quo. Even today many regard this era (MK5-7) as the series' low point.

MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!!!!!!

Antoinette Johnson, Amazon
21 June 2003
  • Summary: Mortal Kombat is my absolute favorite fighting franchise. When deadly Alliance came out I knew I wanted it and it didn't disappoint. Me and my sister used to spend lots of time playing this together and it was alot of fun.

Deadly Alliance....

  • Summary: Well, I have been waiting a long time for the next installment of the Mortal Kombat franchise, and I have mixed reviews. First of all, the storyline,as always, is excellent. The characters have been expanded upon since Mortal Kombat 1, and this game adds another beautiful layer to the mythology.

Decent, but Deception is better

Paul Schifferli, Amazon

  • Summary: Mortal Kombat's triumphant return with "Deadly Alliance" leaves somewhat of a sour taste leftover. The plus side is fatalities are easy to execute, however, each character only has one fatality, and some are downright silly.

  • Summary: when the original MK came out back in the early 90's, it was groundbreaking and everyone knew it was like the next big thing. Now its 2003 and the 5th (allthough there were many very unsuccesful MK games between) Mortal Kombat is now out. And I'm not really that impressed.

I Was Expecting to be Impressed

  • Summary: I must say that the newest installment in one of the two greatest tournament fighting franchises of all time is quite a disappointment. After a five year hiatus, Mortal Kombat returns in a most discouraging fashion.

If you can't beat 'em, beat 'em up.

  • Summary: This game is probably the most exciting game to come around in years, bar none. I played it once at my friend's uncle's house, and he's a designer for Sony, so he had an advanced copy for PS2. I have to say, I was blown away by the amount of colors and characters.
