Summary: Monster Hunter is a classic. It's one of the best franchises on the PS2 and PSP, and perhaps soon the DS. This game arrived in perfect condition just like I ordered it, and it's a great game with beautiful graphics (for a PS2, at least, it won't stand up to a PS4 or anything obviously). I have no complaints.
Summary: Bought it for my Grand daughter to play on my 'old and outdated' (according to her) PS2. She loves it, and according to her (the expert) the graphics, are excellent, and not only does she love playing this 'original' version on the PS2, she has convinced me to start my own quest, and I also am having fun. Recommend it if you don't mind your youngsters laughing at you every time you get killed by a creature from the Jurassic era.
Summary: I love this game. I lost my old copy, ended up with the newest edition for the DS and I still want to play the old edition. The game play is smoother, the options are wider. Its just a lot of fun. Its challenging enough to keep me interested, but no so overly challenging that I lose interest.
Summary: This game is amazing! Imagine you trying to help and save your village when millions of monsters try to kill you. As you can imagine the challenge can be hard in some situations. The controls are strange but okay. A down side is the online play stoped Dec 31 2007 and that is pretty bad saying you can only get some quests, armor, weapons, and items online. The graphics are great for ps2. The sound is amazing from wayverns roaring to music in the back ground it sounds great.
Summary: Monster Hunter is one of the best games I have played and os one of my favorites. It can be a challenge at times so you need to come up with a strategy for each mission. The controls are very good except when you put it down for a while and go back to it, it takes a while to get the controls back in your head. The graphics are better than I expected it to be.At times it is very hard to look up and down especially when in a very hard hunting battle. The game has many missions...
Summary: This game was the best of its kind. It has so many possibilities for character customization, you can make weapons, armor, guns, etc. and that's why you kill large monsters to get better weapons, to become the the best hunter in the village and town. Online is the best part (when it was still online) you got to hunt with a 4 man team and go ravage the land for treasure and your prey.
Summary: I have been playing this game since it was released in the United States, and I would like to correct some of the errors that I have seen in these reviews. The main error that I have observed is that people seem to think that the controle scheme is fataly flawed, that it inhibits the player, this is not true. Monster Hunter is a game where you have a lot of control over your character, most would say to much control.
Summary: I think that this game is a great title for the ps2 but there was some flaws about the game, but what games doesn't have them. I manage to work around them, other then that this is a great game. I HOPE THAT CAPCOM COMES OUT WITH ANOTHER ONE FOR THE PS3 WITCH IS ALSO REALLY AWSOME. Overall I think Monster Hunter is one of ps2's greatest titles to be remember for a life time.

Summary: When I got this game at a store no one knew anything about it so I was a little worried at first. When I started playing it it was a little hard to get the gontrols right but then the game got awsome. I like how you can hunt and or fish for food when you get farther in you can hunt dragons and upgrade yourself and the world is huge.
