Summary: While definitely not the best game in the series, nothing beats the one that started it all. And it's in English, thank the heavens. The only thing I found wrong with it is the camera, it is atrocious. Combat system is strange, but once you get used to it, it isn't too bad. I definitely recommend it for people looking for more Monster Hunter. But be warned, it is not for everyone.

Summary: There really is nothing like Monster Hunter and it has a surprising amount of depth for a PS2 game, and this is just from a solo player point of view, I have never played online. As far as the depth goes I rate it right up there with GTA3 and Dark Cloud 2, both great, lot of depth PS2 games. Couple of negatives about Monster Hunter is the controls and interface could have been better and more refined. The graphics range from average to sub par.
Summary: Monster Hunter is a game unlike most and because of this many find it to be either incredible diverse or flat out unplayable, I myself fall into the positive placement when mention of the game comes up but that doesn't stop me noticing one problem with this particular version of the franchise, That being the non-existent multiplayer that once made this a perfect game, So if you don't mind playing this solo then you're all set and have no need to worry but if your buying...
Summary: This game is packed with fun and action. It's got hundreds of weapons and armor sets, hundreds of monsters to kill, and many more things...after about 2-3 months of playing offline it gets old... By the way the game's online was shut off. (biggest mistake ever!
Summary: Reviewed for Big Boss Games by: JLR Have you ever looked down the blade of a sword, only to see a Dragon the size of small building staring back? This is just one of the situations you will find yourself facing in Capcom's Monster Hunter. To start, the graphics in this game are some of the most believable in a game to date. The environments are a decent size, broken up into about 8-12 small area's.
Summary: Monster Hunter was one of the best games that I have ever played. With 30 different monster, this game never gets old, especially if you play online. Also, this game has about 35 levels, give or take, so it never runs out of suprises. A word of advice, though, never take on a wyvern unless you have a really good weapon.
