Mister Mosquito (PS2)

ccgr.org
22 April 2006
  • Excerpt: It’s summertime; time for mosquitoes to store up as much blood as they can before the winter cold. Unfortunately, summer also seems to be driving the Yamada family mad. This is going to make things difficult for Mr. Mosquito as he hunts for blood in their home.

Mister Mosquito

Thunderbolt Games
28 September 2005
  • Excerpt: As the blazing hot sun sets on the remaining remnants of summer, everyone is preparing for the onset of the fall. Students are going back to school, the backyard barbecue grills are pushed into the inner recesses of the garage, the amusement parks are desolate and empty, and the there’s a definite lack of skin at the beach. The temperature is going down, and it won’t be too long before the leaves start falling from the trees.

Mister Mosquito – Review

GameCritics.com
19 November 2002
  • Excerpt: Mega-Publisher Eidos, one of the largest and most powerful companies in videogames today, has taken notice of a small but growing fanbase here in America. The people targeted? Gamers who crave something fresh. Rather than be sated solely with the next by-the-numbers FPS or 3D adventure title, they're looking for those rare, rough-edged fringe projects so full of creativity that they don't fit cleanly into any one genre.

Mister Mosquito

Playstation Illustrated
6 November 2002
  • Excerpt: Mister Mosquito places you in the life of a mosquito, trying to eek out a living during a very hot summer with the Yamada family by doing what you must - sucking their blood. I won't go into any more detail on the scenario, as the first time you play (without a saved game), you'll be in for a long narrative intro which you can't speed past. (Attention all developers: this is a bad idea. If they want to get past it, let them. Feh.

Mister Mosquito

The Armchair Empire

  • Conclusion: for the right time to go in and take a bite out of a family member. You’ll often find yourself hovering in wait, or activating an appliance to distract your target, finally going in for the strike. Those who don’t particularly care for games that require a good amount of patience will not like this one bit, but anyone else who doesn’t mind playing the waiting game should have no troubles here.

  • Excerpt: Seemingly something you’d more likely see on Nintendo’s cute & cuddly, fathead-fluffy GameCube, Mister Mosquito for PlayStation 2 is a frightfully charming and terrifically innovative little title.

Game Over Online
12 April 2002
  • Excerpt: As a reviewer, I get the opportunity to play a lot of games. I get the good ones, I get the bad ones, and every now and then I’m lucky enough to get the really interesting ones; the games that that are completely original, break new ground and make excellent additions to any true game collector’s library. Mister Mosquito from Fresh Games is such a game. A game that makes you realize that everything is not a copy of something that has come before it.

Mister Mosquito

  • Excerpt: Good God, Mister Mosquito is an odd game. Not just in that quirky funky goofy Japanese sort of way, but really, REALLY odd. First, I've never really seen a game that so obviously and yet so hilariously heaps on the innuendo. Sucking blood is such a thinly veiled euphemism that you can't help but laugh at the fact that someone actually made a game like this. Of course, the real question is if the game is actually fun, or rather fun enough to warrant a purchase.

Gry - Wirtualna Polska
20 November 2002
  • Excerpt: W zeszłym miesiącu najlepszy polski miesięcznik konsolowy opublikował zestawienie najciekawszych i najbardziej innowacyjnych (lub, jak kto woli, przełomowych) gier konsolowych 2002 roku. Dziwnym trafem zabrakło tam pozycji zwanej Mister Mosquito . Czemu? Nie mam pojęcia - w końcu symulator życia komara to dosyć niekonwencjonalna tematyka gry wideo! Tak, nie macie problemów ze wzrokiem. Jest dokładnie tak jak napisałem - Mr.
