Summary: I like many who bought this game am a boxing fan. With EA Sports pulling it's sucessfull simulation "Knockout Kings" off the ps2 platform, I was left to look elsewhere for "sweet science"(boxing) action. After months of looking and finding just old boxing games or cartoonish boxing games I thought I was out of luck. Then came "Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing".
Summary: I like this game because it's a good sports game. I also like this because it's a good fighting game to play with a friend, or against the computer. I like it when you push the select button, the boxers say something. I highly recommend this game to future boxing fans. Don't listen to the bad reviews.
Summary: Okay this is an emergency message.... dont listen to anyone who thinks this game [is bad] this game [Rocks} sure its not like knockout kings 2002 wich [was bad] anyway, but Iron Mike Tyson Heavyweight boxing is sooo awesome and is totally worth buying heres the FACTS people problably dont like parts of this game because its like nfl blits but trust me this game rocks its really hard but when you unlock iron mike tyson its a whole different story tyson makes the game soo...
Summary: ...You may not have to guess how I feel about "Mike Tyson's Heavyweight Boxing". It is a horrible game and was no fun at all. The graphics are pretty good and the control method is quite a good idea but the game itself is very frustrating and ridiculously hard. Even after I used a cheat to unlock Tyson, I still got pounded and KO'd by Audley Harrison within 30 seconds.
Summary: This is a stupid game i played it at Toys R us and it mader no sence it had wrestling move if i wanted a wrestling game id go with wrestling legends its a stupid no sence and no brain used for this game
Summary: this game [is] bad. i bought this game with some doubt in my mind. i should have listened to all of the bad reviews it recieved. i read maybe 3 review that gave the game less than a 3 outta 10... the gameplay: i thought that the game didn't use the power that the PS2 could put out. the fighters looked as if they were just punching accross the other fighter.
Summary: The first time i played Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing i was like wow. the graphics are great, there are a variety of modes and they are all pretty fun, and the features are nice too. the controls are weird at first, but i got used to it in about half an hour. the actual fighting is realistic, but it has an arcade feel, which is a good thing. when i play as Iron Mike, i feel like pounding my opponent and i usually do so the fun factor is there.
Summary: ... I have the game and think its a great game after a few days of battling my way through to the harder players with my custom boxer. If you enjoy to have a game which will last you a lot longer than KK2 then why waste your money on anything else except a good game "Mike Tysons Heavyweight Boxing".
Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing (PS2): In the red corner...

Summary: Mike Tyson's Heavyweight Boxing is an impressive title which will keep you coming back for more. It combines the simulation elements of Knockout Kings with the more arcade feel of Ready 2 Rumble. The game has really one main playing mode which is to get the title belt. You start off at Bronze Belt and if you can beat all the fighters in that section you move on to Silver Belt.
Pros: Custom Boxer option, Not the usual mindless button bashing, Good graphics
Cons: Don't get to play as Tyson from the beginning, Can get a little repetitive
