Excerpt: "...console. When I saw Midway Arcade Treasures I was surprised at the collection of games as it included a few of my all time favourites. Now I do still have the Amstrad CPC 464 computer that plays all these games on cassette tape and it does all work, but when it comes to taking out a heavy computer, setting it up and waiting at least 10 minutes for the game to load or grabbing a disk, putting in my PS2 and playing the games within a couple of minutes ...
Summary: This is an excellent game. This has arcade games from the 80's and 90's. It is very useful for Twin Galaxies. For someone who scored over 300,000,000 million on Robotron must understand how it is done. Apparently it would be impossible for me to achieve such a score that high. This is good for others who played any of those games and acheived record high scores would want such game.
Excerpt: "...Shock 2. Midway has gone to great lengths in creating an archive of background information and trivia on each title, including interviews with the original developers. But despite this admirable effort, Arcade Treasures fail to recommend itself as anything more than a curio. ...
Pros: Will prove nostalgic fun to some
Cons: Basic graphics, bad sound effects, badly aged gameplay
Summary: This game has 20 games in it.They are all just cheesy, classic arcade games but they are pretty fun. It,s not really addictive though.there is just one itsy, bitsy problem.......... I only like 2 games witch are Smash T.V,Bubbles, and Rampage.
Summary: This game is awesome! WELL, WELL, WELL worth the $19.95! I spend more time playing the games on this disk than I do all my other games combined! One thing though...If you're a 720 fan, you might be upset to know that the game controls are exactly BACKWARDS from the original arcade version. Takes some time to re-learn. Other than that, EXCELLENT Game!
Summary: For those of us who were fond of spending hard-earned quarters in the arcades back in the 80s, this game is a wonderful treat. For twenty dollars, you get an express trip to memory lane and the chance to play some old favorites without running out of money. But a special bonus is included in the disk. You can learn about the history of each game, pictures of the cabinets or concept art and even watch interview clips with the creators.
Summary: I purchased the Playstation 2 with the intention of only picking about 10 or so games for the console - any more than that and I would probably find myself up until the wee hours every night. One game that is highly essential, especially if you only have a small collection, is Midway Arcade Treasures.
Summary: Alot of my love for this title comes from the fact that I was a coin-op arcade junky in the middle eighties. That being said, the games included here really have excellent gameplay to draw on. Its not just the nostalgia. My favorites titles include Defender, Stargate, (i refuse to call it Defender II), Joust, Spy Hunter, 720, Robotron 2084, Rampage and Gauntlet. This disc also helped me to discover some games that Id missed back in the day.
Summary: If you happened to grow up during the video game boom in the 1980's, this collection is for you. I put it in my PS2 and was instantly taken back to my teenage days of arcade influenced ill-repute. Not only does this disc contain over twenty classics, but it also includes some games--such as Sinistar--that I never had the chance to play the first time around because their distribution was limited. The sights and sounds hold true to the originals.
