  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: Midnight Club II does live up to the hype, but it falls just short of the greatness that is NFS: Hot Pursuit 2. While MC II has everything going for it, its style of gameplay is sure to frustrate many would-be conquerors of the street. But if you're up for a challenge, this game provides some high-speed, adrenaline-packed entertainment. Using the slipstream and hitting the nitrous at just the right time will make your head spin, guaranteed.

  • Excerpt: While Midnight Club II might not be the officially licensed video game of the movie The Fast and the Furious , it's as close as most of us will get to the insanely fast (and indeed, furious) world of illegal street racing. All things considered, that's probably a good thing.

Midnight Club II

  • Excerpt: I like a challenge now and then. After all, you can't really feel a sense of accomplishment if you aren't pushed from time to time. Midnight Club II, however, takes challenging you to a whole new extreme, and it does it in such a way that the bullshit tactics the AI employs near the end of the game are enough to make some gamers so frustrated that they throw their controllers down in disgust and walk away from the game never to return.
