Maximo: Ghosts To Glory, old-school fun with PS2 graphics

Gurendaizā, Amazon
16 January 2015
  • Summary: Maximo, as you will always call it and never use the subtitle, is somewhat of an anachronism in that it unofficially belongs to the Ghouls and Ghosts franchise. This game provides old-school arcade-like action, with PS2-grade 3D graphics and environments.

A challenging platformer

  • Excerpt: I was quite looking forward to loading up Maximo but to be honest I was a little disappointed. It's a good platformer but it doesn't let you make mistakes. It's made in the arcade style with lives so I expected it to not be on the easy side but I didn't realise quite how hard it would be.

Maximo is a great old school platformer for hardcore gamers!

Dragonlord, amazon.co.uk
27 May 2009
  • Summary: Maximo is one of the hardest games for the PS2, in fact I found it harder then Devil May Cry 3 ( the original version ) to complete. Maximo has nice chunky 3D cartoon graphics and the sound goes well with the game.

Ghosts and Goblins gets a 3D update

davesmith..., Ciao
26 January 2009
  • Excerpt: Being a soldier sucks a fat one. You go to war, kick some ass for a few months, and then when it's over you traipse home battered and bruised, have a hot meal, see the missus then head out for more war.
  • Pros: Great atmosphere, action and graphics, very rewarding
  • Cons: A little too difficult at times, not many stages
