HonestGamers

  • Excerpt: You might think that tossing 23 playable heroes, dozens of villains, and countless recognizable characters into the same game would be fan-service enough, but some people don’t know when to quit.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Just RPG

  • Excerpt: The X-Men Legends games have been among the most solid multi-player RPGs of the last few years. However, for their next game, Raven Software is going for something even bigger and better… something that the X-Men could never handle alone. That game is Marvel: Ultimate Alliance ! The notorious Doctor Doom has assembled The Masters of Evil, a group of super villains. Needless to say, it’s going to take some of the world’s greatest superheroes to defeat them!

  • Excerpt: I think most people have a favourite super hero, or at least a favourite set of super heroes. For lots of people my age it's X-Men, simply because of the great cartoon series that was on TV every morning before school. The great thing about Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is that it'll please the majority of super hero fans - that is unless you happen to favour anyone from DC Comics or one of the few characters from the Marvel stable that isn't included.

  • Excerpt: Listen up, X-Men Legends fans, Matt's about to do you one better: Marvel Ultimate Alliance. With a roster that includes many of Marvel's top tier characters and improved gameplay, RPG elements, and graphics, this is a title you have to try. Captain America, Invisible Woman, Spider-man, Blade, Wolverine...can I say it? "Avengers Assemble!" Oh yeah.
  • Pros: ups: All your favorite Marvel characters and worlds to explore
  • Cons: downs: repetitive gampelay, weak voice acting and dialog
