Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure
27 February 2006
Conclusion: There's so much failed potential here that it makes me sick. Sure, Ecko and The Collective may have a stiffy for 1984, but there's really nothing wrong with that. It's the forced stealth and the hideous combat that killed the game, not the atmosphere.
Conclusion: As you would expect from the world the game is set in, you come across many confrontations with rival gangs and the aforementioned hired goons and “police”. It’s here the game suddenly feels very similar to Rockstar’s The Warriors as there is that slight chunkiness to the controls, an almost “lag” feeling, which doesn’t really make for much fun.
Pros: Stunning graffiti art, Lots of levels, Lots of unlocks
Cons: Poor combat system, Linear levels, Missed opportunity with the spray paint mini game
