MLB 2K6 PS2

Summary: Alot of people hate this game but I love it! 2K6 really shines with the new Inside Edge scouting system, which we've already covered extensively in our preview articles. Basically, you can purchase scouting reports of opposing teams from Inside Edge, the professional scouting service that compiles mountains of data on tendencies, hot and cold zones, strengths, and weaknesses. There is so much data on individual players that it probably violates a few privacy laws.
More of a fun inside joke than a serious video game, but ...

Summary: I'll preface this review by saying my reasons for purchasing this game (a year after it came out) were for the sole reason that it features the elusive center-field camera. I am a baseball broadcaster for my college's team and I dream of one day being under the bright lights of an MLB broadcast and looking at my program monitor zoomed in from its perch in center field.
Summary: I bought this game and I didn't know what to expect, and I think is a mixed bag. Overall, though, the game designers made it fun to play because of its fairly innovative controls (innovative, that is, for a baseball game). This game is somewhat more unique than the other baseball games available today. One unique feature is the batting, which is entirely controlled by the right analog stick.
Summary: I was hoping to get a bargain when I bought this for 30 dollars. WORST choice of my life. Graphics: 1/10 Batters have faces and a body. Horrid lag between batters, innings, good play highlights, and after strike outs. Sound: 3/10 Music is ok until you hear the same song again in a 5 minute span Announcers get annoying...
Summary: The graphics are horrible! The faces of the players are smushed on their bodies to make it look like they just got ran over by a truck! The pitching is very confusing to figure out. It all depends on when you release the ball when the yellow circle is a certain size. It's so stupid. I got MLB O6 :The Show and let me tell ya, the graphics are awesome and everything is much better. Save yourself from buying another crappy 2K baseball game and get SONY'S game.
Hands down the worst video game I've ever purchased

Summary: I don't even know where to begin with this game. The manual for it is absolutely awful, the main screen user interface is a joke, fielding is a nightmare, the pitcher will throw the ball into the stands even if you simply punch the corresponding button, to speak nothing of setting the breakpoint on the pitch. This is prime example of a company that is trying to set it's self apart by trying different controls, and they succeed in never getting another cent from me ever.
Summary: I bought this for my grandson for his birthday. He plays it all the time. He likes that he can have his own player with his own name, espically when the announcer says his name! It was a very good buy and he's still playing it almost a month later.
Summary: And so should you if you have it. This game is missing a lot of elements I enjoyed in MVP. There is no way to see what pitches you have seen from a pitcher in previous at-bats, and its the same on the defensive side. The Stamina rankings are different for MVP fans. I used to go until about 40-50% with starters, on this game, I go for 20-30%, since it seems like fatigue never bothers them like it did in MVP. Also, Fielding grounders is a joke.
Summary: This game is a very good baseball game packed with tons of options and features, but...if you don't read the manual the game will seem like it doesn't function right. Without knowing how to pitch, you will throw wild pitches. etc. Many of the negative reviews are from people who played the game for an hour and didn't bother to learn about the controls. I ghaven't thrown a wild pitch since reading the manaul.
Summary: This game has so much going for it that it is amazing just how much it sucks. Pitching. Set the break point of the ball. By using the Inside Edge statistics and the break point pitch system the game actually allows the AI to swing at pitchs that break off of the plate, something that never happens in MVP.. AWESOME but pitchers fatigue too fast. After 4 innings most starting pitchers are ready to call it a day. Swing Stick is Ok. Not Great.
