Summary: Personal Ratings: Sound: 8.9- Good on the field sound effects and well played music. Except the tunes get dull after a while. The only problem i had with the sound was the announcers they would say the same things over and over. Overall pretty good sound. Graphic: 9.5- Nearly flawless graphics best for a psx2 game only problem is awkward touchdown celebrations. Great face and uniform detail you can even see adidas written on shirts.
Summary: When I purchased Madden 2001 for my PS-1, I thought it was the best thing I had ever seen. Great game, fun to play, appealing on so many levels to so many different types of sports gamers. When I saw Madden 2001 on the PS2, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. That didn't compare to the thrill of actually owning a PS2 and playing this game.
Summary: Let me start off by saying, if you're not a football fan, don't...what am I saying? I don't care if you HATE sports. BUY THIS GAME!!!! The graphics are AMAZING! "It's the little things that kill." That quote stands true for this game. For example, when it's cold outside and you can see the players' breath or when you "ask the coach" and you can view the QB struggling to hear what he has to say. That's just the look of the game. Now it's time for the feel baby!
Summary: Madden has much more to offer than Dreamcast's NFL 2K1. First, the graphics overall are much more smoother. 2K has more edgey graphics as the players are viewed in geometric shapes. Their arms and legs are visibly noticable in the form of rectangles and triangles. The programmers should have taken more time to smooth out the angles on the players. The only advantage Sega has is the facial features of its players.
Summary: Tecmo football for NES was a fun game to play and done as well as a game could be done at that time. Madden 2001 has that level of fun, if not better, plus the added bonus of stunning graphics and gameplay to blow your mind. If you love or even mildly like football, this game will rock your world. It is fun to play against the computer in a season or in franchise mode (where you control a team through multiple seasons controlling every aspect of what your team does).
Summary: I owned Madden 1997 on the Sega Genesis and Madden 1998 and 1999 on PS One and I have to say that Madden 2001 for PS2 BLOWS them away. This is by far the best sports game EVER. First of all, each of the players is recognizeable from his facial features. The different angles mirror TV footage almost exactly, sometimes you forget you are playing a game (in fact people walking into the room assumed it was a televised game).
Summary: I've been playing Madden since 1992, which dates me, but gives me a good perspective on the title's progression. This is obviously the best football game ever made, with a level of realism unprecedented and a bit eerie at that. The cadence of player motion is incredibly accurate, and the speed of the game has caught up to reality.
Summary: Let me start by saying the more I play the game the better it gets, which is very unusual for a sports game, but I still keep discovering little nuances. I played football and this game is too realistic. Everything from lining up to kick the ball to the manner in which players make a tackle. There are only a flew flaws, such as it is difficult to defend the pass and the safeties are never deep enough. Besides that the game is unbelievable.
Summary: I have been blessed by a higher being. I received a PS2 for Christmas this year (I never believed anyone would be able to locate one). The first game I played with my new system was Madden 2001. I had never played the game before, I never stopped to try it in Best Buy or other retailers, and was instantly in awe of the game's incredible graphics. Each player is unique. EA left no detail out. Each player has a unique face and position specific face mask.
Summary: I am 16 and a die hard sports fan and this game is the best. I went over my friends house and My friend and I played it for 7 hours start (eating of course in between) The instant replay is awsome the tackles are like real life and just a awsome game.. The only bad thing about the game is the commantary but who needs that you got the radio to listen to while you are playing it. This is the best. When and if i get PS2 this is the first game that i want...
