Legends of Wrestling Review

J. Perez "Wrestle Dude", Amazon
27 August 2011
  • Summary: The gameplay & Movement is sluggish but no big-time freezes, bugs or anything else that stops the game dead like third one. It lets you create wrestlers without filling up space in your memory card but you can only make 15 caws. In the career mode, you have to make sure you save it or else it won't. It's also a good reminder of the 1990's ECW because there are no count-outs and no-DQs.

Showdown:Legends of Wrestling review

J. Perez "Wrestle Dude", Amazon
28 August 2010
  • Summary: Upside:This game has wreslters that not even Legends Of Wrestlemania has like Randy Savage,Ricky Steamboat,Bruno Sammartino an much more. The game does say the name of your CAW wrestlers. It has many famous arenas like The Cobo Arena,Mid-South Coliseum,LA Sports Arena and last but not least: Madison Square Garden. The gameplay is simple & fun. Downside:It has serious bugs, crashes, glitches & lock-ups that stop the game dead.

For Old-School Wrestling Fans Only

Weston C. Childers "Wes Childers", Amazon
5 July 2007
  • Summary: Showdown: Legends of Wrestling should quench the thirst of wrestling fans who long for the weekend wrestling days of yesteryear where grudges lasted months (or years in some cases) and storylines were compelling and memorable. Showdown does an admirable job of placating the jaded old-school wrestling fan in all of us. Virtually all the major wrestling territories from the 70's and 80's are represented in some form.

A wonderful 3 star game...

Goldenroom, Amazon
12 May 2006
  • Summary: I really think this one could have been almost 5 stars if not for the glitches (which are often). The glitches: sometimes the game freezes, the audio gets messed up, wrestlers freeze up. The most frequent glitch is blocking and the opponent staggers as if he has been hit. The roster is awesome.

tallal, Amazon
11 August 2005
  • Summary: when i got this game i found so many glitches in it.but the gameplay is awsome they have a large variety of wrestlers and they have good mathces. my biggest complain was they dont have there original entrance musics.they only have about 10 moves per wrestler and no voice overs.the commentary is weak and boring.but its still a good game for all those wrestling fans pick this up

not bad but not great

Charles Scott, Amazon
14 July 2004
  • Summary: I have to say this time out they did alot better than the first one. Never played the 2nd one but I'm sure it sucked. The best part about this game is the classic matches. This game isn't for anybody looking for another smackdown. It's a pure 70's/80's type of match. Punches, kicks, head locks, and then power moves. This probably angers most people who were looking for the smackdown powerbombs, and 2 thousand moves.

Great wrestlers, jerky action

Brian Reaves, Amazon
26 June 2004
  • Summary: I've been waiting for this game for a long time. Finally, we get Sting, The Ultimate Warrior, and the Road Warriors in one game! There are some definite improvements over the last two installments of this series. For one, the characters like Sting with long hair finally have moving hair. We start out with all wrestlers free, and you have the chance to replay some of the classic wrestling matches of all time.

Not so bad

Jermell, Amazon
24 July 2002
  • Summary: I like this game a good bit, since I'm a fan of 80's wrestling. I think that the quality of the moves you can do is good, and that the ease of gameplay is quite good. I am however bothered by a couple of things. There should be more wrestlers. The WWE needs to make games in this format, since a lot of those guys are some of the best ever. The format is a bit odd.

ah it's ok, sort of disapointing

Kindle Customer "Pimmy", Amazon
27 December 2001
  • Summary: Was very excited when I first heard about this game and couldn't wait to get it but isn't that great. The finisher moves aren't as easily done as they claim in booklet for it. I still can't do them actually. Plus it doesn't have none of the special features that were rumored for it. There's no Scaffle match, no barbwire match and nothing you might of heard about. Plus most of the guys on the game never even feuded with each other.
