Legacy of Kain: Defiance

Fragland
28 May 2012
  • Excerpt: Everyone who doesn’t know the Legacy of Kain series yet is either from another planet, or someone who must hate story-based games an awful lot. It’s a given fact that everyone who played the original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain or Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver games anxiously awaited the sequels for...

Legacy of Kain: Defiance PS2 Review

Console Obsession
31 May 2010
  • Excerpt: The Legacy of Kain games have always put exploration ahead of the action, but Legacy of Kain: Defiance is less about walking in circles for hours, baffled of where your next location is and far more centred on the action this time around, which is pretty evident when you witness kain’s and Raziel’s...

  • Excerpt: During the past few years, this popular franchise has seen several incarnations in the form of the Soul Reaver and Blood Omen games, each one of which would open a new and exciting chapter of a wonderful and tantalizing storyline. Defiance marks the latest instalment in the Kain era.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance

Playstation Illustrated
26 December 2004
  • Excerpt: In a manner of speaking, Legacy of Kain: Defiance is something of an inbred title. By name, the game is a successor to the Legacy of Kain series of games. Yet, by plot it is more of a sequel to the Soul Reaver series (which is a spin off of the Legacy of Kain series).

  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: It will be nice for many fans to finally get an ending to the game, whether it is good or bad is up to the individual. I consider the ending a mixed bag. It does leave itself open for the possibility of another game so perhaps we'll still see more from the series.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance

TotalPlayStation.com

  • Excerpt: Look, let's just get something straight right from the start of this review: I think vampires are cool. So much so that I might be willing to overlook some of the smaller things about the Legacy of Kain series that other vamp-digging like-minded people would.

Kain and Raziel return to PS2

Web Wombat
26 September 2005
  • Conclusion: Defiance is worth a look, although background knowledge of the game will make it more interesting, and you won't play half the game wondering what is happening. The storyline can get pretty slow at times, but flashy graphics and cool fighting scenes make for a pretty good game.
