Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories (PlayStation 2)
4 January 2009
Summary: Although I loved the Kingdom Hearts I and II titles, Chain of Memories was a slow, aggrevating crawl through what would have otherwise been a great game. Unfortunately the card-expending battle style ruined the core of this beautifully styled game. Being a Square Enix title and an interstital chapter between KHI an KHII revealving the hidden quests of Sora and Riku, the game had a great story line, though the 'acting' seemed less enthused than the other 2 games.
Summary: Kingdom Hearts is back but sadly, not better than ever. You are once again paired with Sora, Donad and Goofy on their quest to find King Mickey and Riku. The game takes you back to worlds you visited once before, Agrabah, Atlantica, Halloweentown etc. While the worlds and bosses are the same, the fighting style is different. In this game a card fighting style is used. It takes a while to get used to the card fighting system and in the end is very flawed and annoying.
Summary: I never played COM on its original release so I didn't know what to expect. But the least that I wanted was something like the first two. If you want another Kingdom Hearts beat 'em up game then this is NOT FOR YOU. This game is based on cards and sequences that you play them in. It is completely lame and I regret buying it.
