Excerpt: Being a Disney/Square-Enix collaboration, Kingdom Hearts was the strangest of unions, a coming together of two giants from separate entertainment categories. Characters from both Final Fantasy and an array of Disney films were featured along with some of the most famous of Disney worlds for the player to explore. It should never of worked but by god it did!
Excerpt: The long awaited next chapter in the Kingdom Hearts series, Kingdom Hearts 2 , makes some changes to the original formula, some good and some not so good, but fans of the series will certainly find a lot to love. The game provides an exciting, if at times cryptic, continuation of the series story line, and on the whole, provides a fun and entertaining experience.

Nearly five years later, Kingdom Hearts II has arrived in North America, bearing promises of outdoing its predecessor with better controls and a richer story, and -- perhaps the most incredible of all -- being two and a...
Conclusion: While Kingdom Hearts II does in many ways adequately improve over it’s predecessor, thus making the game a legitimate sequel, the engaging story and excellently mixed-in Disney presentation alone may not prove to be enough to make some people look past the actual game which, while made much less clunky than the original, in the end comes off as just too simple and not really challenging enough, putting a lot of the game’s seemingly cool features to waste.
Conclusion: Despite these minor problems, I was a fool for not trying Kingdom Hearts II sooner. In a decision reminiscent of something out of The Beauty and the Beast, my reluctance to give KHII a try was little more than me judging a book by its cover. Despite my pessimism, this unusual, yet successful, blend of Final Fantasy and Disney proved to be just perfect.
Pros: Improved control system; excellent soundtrack; interesting game world.
Cons: Difficulty level too easy; main story is short; some disappointing side quests; repetitive enemies.
