Summary: The first 3D Kof is a good game, but falls when you put it in front of another fighting games like DOA, Virtua Fighter or Tekken. The graphics are good, the characters are a little bit unbalanced and the gameplay could turn into a smashing buttons competition. If you are a fan of the series, give it a try but if you are a HARDCORE FAN stay in the 2D.

Summary: King of fighters have always been known as one of the best 2D fighting games ever, Fans have never been pleased because of the graphics but how the game play has been and it's characters. But this game has something new and different, Something surprising KOF fans. An Snk game in 3D! Don't be mad fans, The graphics are quite acceptable for PS2.
Summary: I am a KOF newbie but Ithink this is the best one. I just think it. I have, however seen trailers of the 2D ones and boy, they do look very crappy. I have beated the game several times and I can give you some advices: Play as those guys, they are the best: Athena Asamiya K' Mai Shiranui Terry Bogard Maxima Ralf Jones Alba Meira Soiree Mrira Lien Neville Duke Dont fight those, they are experts: Kyo Kusanagi Clark Still K' Maxima Ralf Jones Chae Lim Soiree Meira Lien...
Summary: This game is not that great, as a KOF fan I'm a little disappointed. I give it three stars because they animated the female fighters pretty good ^_^ otherwise I would have given it two. The gameplay is mediocre and the voice acting is horrific, also their mouths move when they aren't talking. Save your money and stick to the 2D versions.
Summary: King of Fighters: Maximum Impact is the first KOF 3-D game. Although this game has a good presentation, good graphics, awesome sound & visual effects, and awesome voiceovers, the controls just make this version of KOF unplayable. Graphics 7/10 - Yes, I know I said that this game has good graphics, but, seriously, they could be better. However for SNK's 1st attempt in a 3-D KOF game, they did a good job.
Summary: Have you even played any other KOF game in the series? Honestly, if you have than you'd be able to play this game. They added many moves that actually make the game simpler to newcomers, and difficulty in perfoming special attacks is one thing that makes a game interesting. I do believe that you are not an abid fighting game player, and if you are, you are used to button mashing controls of Super Smash Bros, or titles of that sort.
