This game is all about crazy action on crazy tracks. At first it seems a bit intimidating but you will be amazed at how fast you get used to all that is going on. It has great graphics and sound and the designs are all top notch. And the best part is the amount of control you have over how you want the two-player mode to work. Read more

For the most part, Kinetica sports some pretty sharp graphics. The tracks range from complex (but visually bland) cityscapes to gorgeous wooded areas that really show off the game's engine. Unfortunately, while the frame rate doesn't usually dip down too low, when there's a lot of action on the screen the game can really chug. Kinetica follows a long line of futuristic racers, like Wipeout and Rollcage , which have tried to convey a sense of speed while keeping a futuristic theme intact by presenting well-done racing environments. In Kinetica , racers actually become the racing vehicles as they wear Kinetic Suits, outfitted with wheels, to allow them to race along twisting tracks, lined with loops, jumps and boost pads. But with that said, I must confess Kinetica is a good game if a bit thin. It's faster than a cheetah hopped up on meth and the simple stunts are fun to pull off. More thought could have gone into the trick and track designs, but it doesn't cripple the game. It's worth more than a rental if you're a fan of the Tron style, Extreme G , Wipeout thing. At any rate, it's a solid distraction until Wipeout Fusion arrives. Read more

The interesting character design and unique stunt system set it apart from the pack, but the fluctuating frame rate, track design issues, and poor sensation of speed hold it back from being a really good futuristic racing game. Read more
