Graphically, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is hit or miss. While it doesn't show off the pure potential of the PS2's hardware, there are more than a few pieces of eye-candy to keep you from writing it off as a failure. The entire game has a rather murky, dusty feel to it thanks to the overabundance of blurry, low-res textures. Although this befits the game's jungle based 'levels', it doesn't do much for the overall look of the game. Read more

The game features a training mode and a mission mode that gives you simple tasks to accomplish. The core gameplay mode however is the open-ended Operation Genesis. You select a randomly generated island and begin building your park from scratch. The goal is to achieve a five-star ranking, officially making your park "the best theme park in the world." Unfortunately, achieving this five-star rating is quite easy. I reached it only a couple hours into my second park. Read more

In my opinion, this game outshines any vitual reality program so far, it's highly realistic, the dino's move realisticly, with unique calls etc. But it only lets u uncover 3 sites, and the dinosaurs u want arn't always there. There isn't enough species variation! there should have Diplodicus, Ornifalesties, the different species of the tyrannodae family. Read more

    • It requires a bit of knowledge, the game rocks man!
    • Not enough dinosaur species

This game is an interesting and welcome addition to the Jurassic Park franchise and one that really explores the possibility of the premise from a business stand point, one that in the films always drove the characters to commit acts of increasing stupidity in exchange for the chance of vast wealth. The game is basically 'Theme Park' only with a dinosaur zoo slant. Read more

Operation Genesis is one of my all-time favorite games. Never before have I experience such freedom in a simulation game; it lets you actually live in your own park so to speak, and the unlimited personalities of the dinosaurs and their surroundings is a simple mystery, yet one, along with the unlimited gameplay features that come with creating your park, make this game one that you will want to play over and over again. So, you think you’ve seen Jurassic Park at its very deadliest? Think again. Following a long line of theme park simulators, Project Genesis lets you create Jurassic Park however you see fit. Mind you, your real objective should be to create a financially viable park, but a few vicious dinosaur attacks will likely come with the territory. Creating your attractions from the ground up, you’ll try to find the right layout and features to make people flock to the experienc…
