Excerpt: Hot Shots Tennis takes the Hot Shots series in a whole new direction and game, this time, onto a tennis court. The game's visuals reminded me more times than not of Wii Sports . Granted, the game doesn't use the legless Mii's that are seen on the other system, but everything from the menus to the very cartoony characters (even if they have legs) just seemed to belong on the Wii. None of this is bad by any means.
Excerpt: Alright, its Hot Shots, I gave it a chance, and you should too. Anyone who has played any of the Hot Shots Golf offerings probably has a good idea of what this game has going for it. The term “cutesy comes to mind. It’s kind of like the video game equivalent of walking into a “Hello Kittie store. Bright colors, cartoonish characters, sparkles and little bunnies…yes, bunnies, add to an ultimately o.k. game.
Conclusion: Hot Shots Tennis fails to live up to the calibre set forth by Hot Shots Golf . The lack of added content really dings the overall experience. It feels rushed and that’s not what Clap Hanz is known for. With any luck their next tennis outing will have a little more effort put into it and they’ll deliver the real deal. For now, give the game a rent and see what you think, otherwise you may want to look elsewhere for your tennis fix.
