  • excellent sci fi fps, this game is long, fine story, detailed and engrossing story, mouse keyboard support
  • mediocre graphic, graphics were poor, some dodgy voice overs, more character templates, older graphic engine

Deep in the bowels of the Black Mesa Federal Research Facility, a decommissioned missile base, a top-secret project is underway. You are Gordon Freeman, a young research associate in the Anomalous Materials Laboratory. You have limited security clearance and no real idea of just how dangerous your job has become, until something goes horribly wrong. Is it sabotage? An accident? Or is it something you did?

    Half Life has been on of the most amazing, interesting and enjoyable first person shooters to make its way to the PS2. Before becoming a PS2 game, it won over 50 Game of the Year awards while taking its pride place as a PC game. Many gamers felt sceptical, and afraid that the award winning game would lose its authenticity in the port change, fortunately, the game did retain it’s brilliance. Read more

    What's this you say Half-Life rated less than a classic? Well unfortunately there are just too many obstacles for the deaf gamer to contend with. If you are a hearing gamer then feel free to make the score 8.5/10 but as this site caters for deaf gamers we have to be true to the deaf community and we may have been generous with giving the game 3.5/10.     4-5 years ago I remember playing this game on the PC and it was quite rightly acclaimed as one of the best games ever. The PS2 version is just as good. When the game booted and i was again in control of Mr Freeman, it can be a little frustrating at first trying to find your way around, but when you get to grips with the game play methodology you may not be able to put it down till its time to go to bed.     This game is the epitome of what FPS are. Even though the game itself came out years ago on the P.C. it hasn't aged one bit in that all other FPS take some elements from this game and expound on it. You play the role of Gordan Freeman, and you start off with nothing. At the time, this was unheard of in a FPS game. Your first real "weapon" is a crow-bar.
