Guitar Hero 5 Mobile - Review

WMExperts
12 January 2010
  • Summary: Guitar Hero 5 Mobile is one of those games that is poorly conceived from the start. It’s certainly possible to make a fun rhythm game for smart phones, but not by shoehorning in a game that’s meant to be played with a dramatically different interface. This game’s terrible production values and way-too-high $6.99 price tag make it even less appealing. Only Achievement hunters with low gaming standards need apply.

Test Guitar Hero 5

Generation NT
10 January 2010

Guitar Hero 5 Review

PlayStation Universe
23 October 2009
  • Summary: Guitar Hero 5 is another near-perfect solo for Neversoft and Activision. There are plenty of small tweaks that ensure the game is worth a look, but ultimately, we feel the franchise is long overdue for a complete overhaul.
  • Pros: The new Party Play mode that lets you jump right in and play, The 85 tracks that are available right out of the box, Playing a Gorillaz track as Johnny Cash
  • Cons: The lack of any major, compelling new features, The feeling the series needs a major overhaul to keep it fresh

Guitar Hero 5

Defunct Games
18 September 2009
  • Summary: It doesn't matter if you're a longtime fan of the series or picking up the fake plastic guitar for the first time, Guitar Hero 5 has something for everybody. It features an impressive track list, amazing graphics and enough gameplay modes to keep you rockin' long after you've played all 85 tracks. Guitar Hero 5 is a major step in the right direction! This product was submitted by the publisher for review. As a rule, Defunct Games does not review games we spent money on.

Guitar Hero 5

playmagazine
11 September 2009
  • Excerpt: With Rock Band and Guitar Hero sequels, spin-offs, and DLC arriving as frequently as orphans on Angelina Jolie's doorstep, it's understandable gamers are beginning to burn out on the rhythm game craze. Couple this with the fact many of us have more plastic instruments than furniture in our living rooms, and it's clear music-game makers need to evolve their franchises to keep us rocking.

Guitar Hero 5 Review

AtomicGamer
3 September 2009
  • Excerpt: It's been years since the first Guitar Hero was released, and the music game industry hasn't ever been bigger than this. After some slightly disappointing sales during the Holiday 2008 season, both Harmonix, creators of Rock Band , and Neversoft, the new stewards of the Guitar Hero franchise (under Activision's direction) have changed up their game to deliver two entirely different music games within just eight days of each other this year.

MondoXbox
21 December 2012
