Excerpt: Fast forward to a year later and the release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Rockstar decided to show everyone that that “ripples of controversy” they created was only the result of getting their feet wet and, this time, they are going to cannonball into the deep end. Instead of Reservoir Dogs and N.Y.P.D. Blue, Rockstar North has created the videogame twin of Pulp Fiction and The Sopranos. GTA3 is tame in comparison to what you will find in Vice City.
Excerpt: Rockstar brings us the long awaited next installment in the GTA series, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. It does a whole lot of things right, but it isn't as revolutionary as GTA3, and, frankly, we're disappointed with the direction in which the series is heading. Of course, the soundtrack is amazing, so we reviewed the Vice City Official Soundtrack Box Set, too. Click here.
Pros: ups: GTA III action; more of everything; everything is bigger; the 1980s.
Cons: downs: We've seen most of this before; moving in the wrong direction.
