Summary: I took a chance buying a second hand copy of this game as I've heard so many good reviews about it. When I first played it I had very mixed thoughts. On the one hand you have an awesome selection of cars, (although good luck affording them) some enjoyable and varied tracks, lot's of performance mods for your car and very good graphics especially for Playstation 2.
Summary: Whilst this game does offer a lot, it doesn't quite offer enough. The graphics are excellent throughout and the driving experience is good. But there is nothing else extra compared to the old PS1 games - in fact, there are less cars and options available so there's less interest here. Having owned this for awhile, I only play it now again but can't do it for long as it becomes to repetitive.
Summary: The basic outline is very good, Hundreds of cars to buy and hundreds of races to take part in and win. On top of the that, you can also tune your car and take part in license tests. So you should never be bored right? Not strictly true im afraid..... Some of the cars are too similar, so its pintless buying some of them.
Summary: I bought both GT 1 + 2 and i thought they were brilliant so i bought GT3 and was very disapointed as there are no where near as many cars on it as there are on GT2 and you cannot race modify the cars either. Although it has faults the graphics are absolutely brilliant. The best i've ever seen. If you are looking for good graphics then it is a must. But if you have got GT2 and like buying and racing lots of fast cars then stick to GT2.
Summary: Played gt1 and 2. Then gt3 may feel a bit of a let down. Great graphics. But you only get a sense of speed when using the in car view. But then you only get a choice of 2 car views any way. It takes a while to get into the game and earn some credits for a better car. The races are ok but the gameplay can get on your nerves. At least the rallying part of the game is worth playing. It was poor to say the least on gt2.
Summary: After all the hype and fuss i can only say that im dissapointed! The graphics are great but the game is let down by more things than it is made good! for instance the pathetic amount of cars comparred to gt2, sure the look good but its missing all my favorites (gt90 springs to mind) and the formula one is very dissapointing waste of time. Also the driving challenge seems to have slipped away as gt3 is an awfull lot easier.
Summary: After all the pre-production hype with nice pictures of designers hanging around race circuits "machine Testing",you would think that they would be able to design cars that actually behave like real ones. They managed to do it in GT 1 and 2, however this time they spent all there time on making the backgrounds look pretty it seems.
Summary: Gran Turismo was ground-breaking, a very playable and long lasting PS game. GT2 was GT with twice as many cars, more tracks and rallying. GT3 has less cars, same number of tracks and better graphics. There is nothing apart from the graphics that set it apart from it's predecessor, I like the game, and will probably play it for months to come, but there was nothing there that made me think 'wow'.
GOOD EARLY GAME RELEASE BUT.........................
28 August 2001
Summary: Well here it is GT3, i still think no1 is the best but... The graphics are good but it is too Fing slow. Plenty of stuff to do but too easy. The most time you will spend on the game is at the start when you dont have enough money to buy the stuff you want. trust me i am a racing fanatic like alot of the people who have posted reviews the best raceing games i have played on is F1 championship season 2000 on the PC and GT1 on the PS1 these are the bench marks.
Summary: The graphics are very good and smooth, i'll give you that. But the sound is terrible, it sound like they've sampled 3 cars and then made all the others variants of them!. Have they never heard a viper!, it doesn't sound like a sewing machine!. I've got a fiat coupe 20vt and i can report that it doesnt sound or handle anything like the game!. Still entertaining, but massively flawed as a simulator, try before you buy.
