Summary: Gradius is a long running shump genre game series and Gradius 5 continues the tradition. Gradius 5 is made by the legendary company Treasure who have made Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga. You can tell there is alot of love put into this game. This is one of few gradius games where 2 players can play at once. Also even after you die you keep going on the level which is a very big welcome. Each level also is very distinct from the others.
Summary: If you're looking for a great game with action and co-op play look no further. Gradius V is dazzling in ways that few games can compare. All you need are quick reflexes and adaptive strategy, which is enough to keep you occupied for a while. There are only 7 stages but they're all quite long and well made. The bosses are a ton of fun to fight, even though they will be quite hard at first.
Summary: If you're into shmups - and can live with the difficulty that Gradius games tend to deliver, then I think you'll find Gradius V outstanding. It's very polished product, gorgeous to look at with unforgiving gameplay. Each level brings a brand new environment to the table - and the bosses are just incredible.
Summary: I bought this game as Im a fan of old 2d shooters, especially ones that have been given a modern remake, and this game didn't dissapoint. I really like these sort of games, where you control one tiny ship in a screen filled with enemy bullets, trying to fight a whole armarda on your own. These sorts of game have that pick up and play feeling that is lost in so many of todays games that require a 10 hour+ sit down to get anywhere through them.
Gradius V (PS2): One of the best 2D shoot-em-ups ever
30 May 2009
Summary: Gradius V has been created by the team behind some of the most renowned (and collectable) shoot-em-ups in the 2D tradition. This is a game for people who like old-school instant gratification, short-burst playing, and replayability. This is a horizontal shoot-em-up, with 2D gameplay and 3D rendered graphics. You control a small ship that has to deal with waves of enemy ships and boss encounters.
Pros: Instant gratification combined with excellent replayability
