S. Morales, Amazon
23 June 2012
  • Summary: Let me start off by saying that back in the day of the Super Nintendo, I did own Gradius 3 and had an absolute blast with it. The game's graphics, music and gameplay were standout gorgeous, I loved it.

Save the MONEY!

Jimmy F., Amazon
27 September 2001
  • Summary: Oh, yep, it's another flyin poop shooter alright. Save your money. This game should be a giveaway, I'd be ashamed if I were the manufacturer. It's a damn poop flyin' and poop shootin' frenzy.

Please rent it before buying.

Amazon
26 January 2001
  • Summary: I was expecting a PS2 game, but I got something that looks like it should be played on an Atari 2600. Even PS1 games leave this one in the dust. Instead of Gradius III & IV, I would reccommend G Darius (PS1). Even though it's an older game, it is way better than than this embarrassment.

No!

S. Richards "shawnimal", Amazon
12 January 2001
  • Summary: Most people will hate this game... so to save them the frustration I'm trying to lower the rating. As you can see from the reviews here, people love it or hate it. While I remember all the old arcade games (and loved them)...

PS2 - world's most expensive rom emulator

C. Bijalba "rouge on azgalor", Amazon
2 January 2001
  • Summary: This is simply a joke, christmas fodder. If you enjoy playing this over other ps2 games you must not like utilizing the full capability of your expensive system. Truth of the matter is: konami needed to make up the costs of the developers kit, so it releases a few lame games which will be rented and...

Not worth it

Amazon
28 December 2000
  • Summary: While this is the original (not enhanced, very original) versions, the graphics on the box seemed to mislead me into thinking that this was going to be a pretty awesome version. Sound is NOT available using the digital outputs from the PS2, so be prepared to hookup your analog audio cables if you...

  • Summary: sigh, what a waste. you can all say that this game is quote un-quote great, and to be sure, id buy this game if it were about 5 years ago, what a waste! this game is a waste of money, time, and life. Go out there and get a real game, a game with good graphics, a fun game!

Waste of PS2 power!!

"poetik_boy", Amazon
11 October 2000
  • Summary: This game is a lousy display of the PS2's power. It's not even 3-D! A side scrolling game on a 128 bit system? What a joke!! I beg you, at all costs, leave this game on the shelf where it belongs, and buy a real piece of software for your PS2, like Dead or Alive Hardcore, SSX snowboarding, or...

Why oh why oh why

AdamCrist..., Ciao
3 August 2001
  • Excerpt: This should never have been allowed onto the PS2, if the publishers wanted to cash in on the name why not just make a new, up-to-date, Gradius game. For those of you that dont know Gradius, it is an old school horizontal scolling shoot-em-up in the same kind of style as classics such as R-Type.
  • Pros: I wish there were some
  • Cons: Paying for it in the first place

Foolish youth

Amazon
17 June 2001
  • Summary: For those of you like me, the name Gradius (or Nemisis as it was known in the UK) will bring a tear to your eye. 15 years ago, Gradius was the king of the arcade blasters. When I heard this title was coming to the PS2, I was more than a little excited.
