You don't need a plastic guitar to rock

mariofan36 , GameStop
9 April 2008
  • Summary: Welcome to Gitaroo-Man, one of the most out there (literally) games to hit America on the PS2. Basically, you are U-1, and after a long day of being bullied, your dog suddenly teaches you how to play a Gitaroo, some kind of battling instrument. Turns out you're Gitaroo Man, and well... I'm getting ahead of myself. This is a rhythm game at it's heart, and it does it's job well.

  • Conclusion: a fun and adictive game with fantastic music odd graphics and good gameplay, but why 2/5? well this would have gotten full scores but it lost because of unfair battles and with so much happening at once you lose consetration.

Best rhythm game ever made, one of the best PS2 games

David Tierney, amazon.co.uk
17 March 2014
  • Summary: I had lost my copy of this game so had to get myself a new copy before it's price gets hiked up because it's rare. The music is extremely catchy, ranging from rock to oprea to reggae and everything in between. While very short the game is very challenging and also carries a short but sweet story. There's also a master mode and collectibles which really extend the game, the master mode in particular being extremely difficult.

love this game

  • Summary: I don't review many things but I just had to say that this is one of my all time favourite games ever. I got it a few years ago after seeing a very brief review in a gaming magazine and thinking "thats looks crazy and cute" and it is. I also played a demo I got free of the second level which took my AGES to get through, but when i did, I would play the demo every day after school because I loved it so much.

gitaroo man - simply amazing

Peter McCall "petermccall1234", amazon.co.uk
13 July 2006
  • Summary: i don't usually like ps2 games but i made an exception with this one. i first played it when my brother bought it for his ps2, and i didn't think i would like it. but it turned out to be amazing and i played it over and over again. it combines coordination, rythym, and skill to play. once you get used to it, then you will love it. plus, if it seems too easy then there is also the hard master mode. it doesn't get old or boring either, and i think you will love it.

Interesting but very very hard!

Paul "E", amazon.co.uk
12 May 2005
  • Summary: Well, this game smacks you in your face with it's stylising... there's nothing that looks like this. The graphics are just plain trippy. And to be honest there's nothing that plays quite like this either. Yeah there's Donkey Konga, Amplititude, Papa the Rappa etc - but these are in comparision kids play. It really is hard. You want a challenge, you like rhythm games, you want this game.
