Ghosthunter

Into Liquid Sky
2 January 2005
  • Excerpt: One has to wonder whether SCEA (Sony's American branch) and SCEE (the European branch) are on speaking terms.
  • Pros: Large levels, Great balance between gunplay and puzzles, Some really creepy areas and sound effects
  • Cons: Area pacing could be better, Textures can be bland in areas

Ghosthunter

Game Over Online
27 September 2004
  • Excerpt: The good news is that Ghosthunter is one of the best-looking action games on PS2 this year, maybe even of all time. Sony Cambridge, the house that brought you Primal , has some really talented designers, and a crew of programmers that can make the poorly-aging PS2 hardware sit up and beg. Everything in Ghosthunter is rendered with the in-game engine, so the game can segue from cutscenes to action without a hiccup.

TotalPlayStation.com

  • Excerpt: There are few things as horrible as a game being too ambitious. All the cool design sketches, all the ultra-detailed textures, and all the twisting plot devices in the world can't save a design team or a system that's just not up to the task of conveying all that promise. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Studio Cambridge may have stretched themselves a bit too far with 2003's It's still important to remember, however, that this is the same development studio that...

  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: Of our time spent in the world of Ghosthunter, I can only say I enjoyed around half. The game is marred by its weak combat system and the fact that it fails to deliver on the promised fear is an undeniable disappointment, but if you can look past that you'll find a great story well worth seeing through to its conclusion, and some of the best voice acting in any PS2 game.

Ghosthunter

Gamecell

  • Conclusion: The nice variations in gameplay (echos of Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell and Luigi's Mansion), superb graphics, excellent voice acting (including Sir Michael Gambon as the arch-baddie) and music mean that you'll want to play Ghosthunter right to the end. Only a few minor camera, graphical and sound hiccups, and the fact that idiot icons flash up to tell you what actions are possible even on the final level, long, LONG after you need them to ("Wall Hug") spoil the sheen of a...
  • Pros: Lovely graphics - some of the best on PS2., Excellent level and character design., The weird but absorbing story is told with a wry sense of humour.
  • Cons: You can't move in first person view., A few camera problems.

Ghost Hunter -

Futuregamez.net
21 December 2003
  • Summary: If you like the sounds of a gorgeous, survival-supernatural game, Ghost Hunter will fill the empty spot in your Christmas stocking, with consistent gameplay and eye-melting visuals. Play-before-you-buy is recommended however, because certain faults may be too much for some.

Quel dommage !
