Reviews and Problems with Ghostbusters The Video Game

Fun game with some fatal flaws
The PS2 version of Ghostbusters the video game should have been better than it is. There's no real need for it to be, on balance, just average. And, if the game were not blighted in two particular areas, it would be above average at least - once you get u, Sofa Cinema
Summary: Seeing as the game was one of the last to come out for the PS2,you would be mistaken for expecting it to be on par with of the later games but no,it would be deemed average if it was released when the console was at it's peak.
Summary: It's always hard to review something purchased for someone else, but this is a perennial favourite with our son, as well as the videos. He loves the silliness and quirky humour of the game, well-translated from the movie franchise.
Summary: If you're a fan of the movies, then there is fun to be had here, especially given that all of the main cast are supplying the voices. The story too is nicely linked to the movies. But - the gameplay isn't great, and its one of the more buggier games I've played on the PS2 in many years.
Summary: My son already has this game on the PS3. He has played the PS3 one relentlessly. I decided to try this one out so that he could have it in his bedroom. I was really surprised how good it was compared to the PS3. There really wasn't too great a difference.
Summary: First the bad news: Loading times are a bit on the long side but it does not distract. It also does not seem optimised for widescreen TVs and the game has frozen on me a couple of times (rare for my PS2 but hey there is autosave so nothing is lost)! But, this game is great!!!
